2 Thessalonians 2:5-12

내가 여러분과 함께 있을 때에, 이런 일을 여러분에게 거듭 말했다는 것을 기억하지 못합니까? 여러분이 아는 대로, 그자가 지금은 억제를 당하고 있지만, 그의 때가 오면 나타날 것입니다. 불법의 비밀이 벌써 작동하고 있습니다. 다만, 억제하시는 분이 물러나실 때까지는, 그것을 억제하실 것입니다. 그 때에 불법자가 나타날 터인데, 주 [예수]께서 그 입김으로 그를 죽이실 것이고, 그 오시는 광경의 광채로 그를 멸하실 것입니다. 그 불법자의 나타남은 사탄의 작용에 따른 것인데, 그는 온갖 능력과 표징과 거짓 이적을 행하고, 또 온갖 불의한 속임수로 멸망을 받을 자들을 속일 것입니다. 그것은, 멸망을 받을 자들이 자기를 구원하여 줄 진리에 대한 사랑을 받아들이지 않기 때문입니다. 그러므로 하나님께서는 미혹하게 하는 힘을 그들에게 보내셔서, 그들로 하여금 거짓을 믿게 하십니다. 그것은, 진리를 믿지 않고 불의를 기뻐한 모든 사람들에게 심판을 내리시려는 것입니다. Don't you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
