Joshua 5 (성경통독): With Joshua, there seems to a new era of history for Israel. Those who had never been circumcised before had to be circumcised in the land flowing with milk and honey. And we can clearly see that God was with the Israelites and He was willing to give all opponents into their hands: "When all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and the Canaanite kings along the seacoast heard how God had stopped the Jordan River before the People of Israel until they had crossed over, their hearts sank; the courage drained out of them just thinking about the People of Israel." Similar to Moses who stood in awe in the presence of the Lord, Joshua also quickly lowers himself before the commander of the God's army when he is being told take off the sandals off his feet. The place he is standing is holy.”
