Mark 15:1-15

"십자가에 못박으시오!" 15.그리하여 빌라도는 무리를 만족시켜 주려고, 바라바는 놓아주고, 예수는 채찍질한 다음에 십자가에 처형당하게 넘겨주었다. 1.Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law and the whole Sanhedrin, reached a decision. They bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate. 2."Are you the king of the Jews?" asked Pilate. "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. 3.The chief priests accused him of many things. 4.So again Pilate asked him, "Aren't you going to answer? See how many things they are accusing you of." 5.But Jesus still made no reply, and Pilate was amazed. 6.Now it was the custom at the Feast to release a prisoner whom the people requested. 7.A man called Barabbas was in prison with the insurrectionists who had committed murder in the uprising. 8.The crowd came up and asked Pilate to do for them what he usually did. 9."Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?" asked Pilate, 10.knowing it was out of envy that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him. 11.But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas instead. 12."What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?" Pilate asked them. 13."Crucify him!" they shouted. 14."Why? What crime has he committed?" asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify him!" 15.Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.

Mark 14:66-72

"You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus," she said. 68.But he denied it. "I don't know or understand what you're talking about," he said, and went out into the entryway. 69.When the servant girl saw him there, she said again to those standing around, "This fellow is one of them." 70.Again he denied it. After a little while, those standing near said to Peter, "Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean." 71.He began to call down curses on himself, and he swore to them, "I don't know this man you're talking about." 72.Immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: "Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times." And he broke down and wept.

Mark 14:53-65

Peter followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. There he sat with the guards and warmed himself at the fire. The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death, but they did not find any.Many testified falsely against him, but their statements did not agree. Then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this man-made temple and in three days will build another, not made by man.' " Yet even then their testimony did not agree. Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?"But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?" "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses?" he asked. "You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him as worthy of death. Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, "Prophesy!" And the guards took him and beat him.

Mark 14:43-52

그런데 예수께서 아직 말씀하고 계실 때에, 열두 제자 가운데 하나인 유다가 곧 왔다. 대제사장들과 율법학자들과 장로들이 보낸 무리가 칼과 몽둥이를 들고 그와 함께 왔다. 그런데, 예수를 넘겨줄 자가 그들에게 신호를 짜주기를 "내가 입을 맞추는 사람이 바로 그 사람이니, 그를 잡아서 단단히 끌고 가시오" 하고 말해 놓았다. 유다가 와서, 예수께로 곧 다가가서 "랍비님!" 하고 말하고서, 입을 맞추었다.그러자 그들은 예수께 손을 대어 잡았다. 그런데 곁에 서 있던 이들 가운데서 어느 한 사람이, 칼을 빼어 대제사장의 종을 내리쳐서, 그 귀를 잘라 버렸다. 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders. Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard." Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Rabbi!" and kissed him.The men seized Jesus and arrested him. Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear. "Am I leading a rebellion," said Jesus, "that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled." Then everyone deserted him and fled.A young man, wearing nothing but a linen garment, was following Jesus. When they seized him, he fled naked, leaving his garment behind.

Mark 14:32-42

He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death," he said to them. "Stay here and keep watch." Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him."Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will." Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Simon," he said to Peter, "are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour? Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." Once more he went away and prayed the same thing. When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. They did not know what to say to him.Returning the third time, he said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"

Mark 14:27-31

예수께서 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. "너희가 모두 걸려서 넘어질 것이다. 성경에 기록하기를 '내가 목자를 칠 것이니, 양 떼가 흩어질 것이다' 하였기 때문이다. 그러나 내가 살아난 뒤에, 너희보다 먼저 갈릴리로 갈 것이다." 베드로가 예수께 말하였다. "모두가 걸려 넘어질지라도, 나는 그렇지 않을 것입니다." 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "내가 선생님과 함께 죽는 한이 있을지라도, 절대로 선생님을 모른다고 하지 않겠습니다." 나머지 모두도 그렇게 말하였다."You will all fall away," Jesus told them, "for it is written: " 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.' But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee." Peter declared, "Even if all fall away, I will not." "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "today--yes, tonight--before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times."But Peter insisted emphatically, "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." And all the others said the same.

Mark 14:19-26

But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born." 22.While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take it; this is my body." 23.Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, and they all drank from it. 24."This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many," he said to them. 25."I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God." When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Mark 14:12-19

So he sent two of his disciples, telling them, "Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. Say to the owner of the house he enters, 'The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?' He will show you a large upper room, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there."The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover. When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve. While they were reclining at the table eating, he said, "I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me--one who is eating with me." They were saddened, and one by one they said to him, "Surely not I?"

Mark 14:1-11

"가만두어라. 왜 그를 괴롭히느냐? 그는 내게 아름다운 일을 했다. 7.가난한 사람들은 늘 너희와 함께 있으니, 언제든지 너희가 하려고만 하면, 그들을 도울 수 있다. 그러나 나는 언제나 너희와 함께 있는 것이 아니다. 8.이 여자는, 자기가 할 수 있는 일을 하였다. 곧 내 몸에 향유를 부어서, 내 장례를 위하여 할 일을 미리 한 셈이다. 9.내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 온 세상 어디든지, 복음이 전파되는 곳마다, 이 여자가 한 일도 전해져서, 사람들이 이 여자를 기억하게 될 것이다." 10.열두 제자 가운데 하나인 가룟 유다가, 대제사장들에게 예수를 넘겨줄 마음을 품고, 그들을 찾아갔다. 그들은 유다의 말을 듣고서 기뻐하여, 그에게 은돈을 주기로 약속하였다. 그래서 유다는 예수를 넘겨줄 적당한 기회를 노리고 있었다. 1.Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some sly way to arrest Jesus and kill him. 2."But not during the Feast," they said, "or the people may riot." 3.While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. 4.Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, "Why this waste of perfume? 5.It could have been sold for more than a year's wages and the money given to the poor." And they rebuked her harshly. 6."Leave her alone," said Jesus. "Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 7.The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. 8.She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. 9.I tell you the truth, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her." 10.Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them. They were delighted to hear this and promised to give him money. So he watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

Mark 13:32-37

32."그러나 그 날과 그 때는 아무도 모른다. 하늘의 천사들도 모르고, 아들도 모르고, 오직 아버지만 아신다. 33.조심하고, 깨어 있어라. 그 때가 언제인지를 너희가 모르기 때문이다. 34.사정은 여행하는 어떤 사람의 경우와 같은데, 그가 집을 떠날 때에, 자기 종들에게 권한을 주어서, 각 사람에게 할 일을 맡기고, 문지기에게는 깨어 있으라고 명령한다. 35.그러므로 깨어 있어라. 집주인이 언제 올는지, 저녁녘일지, 한밤중일지, 닭이 울 무렵일지, 이른 아침녘일지, 너희가 알지 못하기 때문이다. 36.주인이 갑자기 와서 너희가 잠자고 있는 것을 보게 되는 일이 없도록 하여라. 37.내가 너희에게 하는 말은 모든 사람에게 하는 말이다. 깨어 있어라." 32."No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33.Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. 34.It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. 35."Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back--whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36.If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37.What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!' "

If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them. 21.At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'Look, there he is!' do not believe it. 22.For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect--if that were possible. 23.So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time. 24."But in those days, following that distress, " 'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25.the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.' 26."At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27.And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens. 28."Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 29.Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away

Mark 13:9-19

You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10.And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11.Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. 12."Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 13.All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14."When you see 'the abomination that causes desolation'standing where it does not belong--let the reader understand--then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15.Let no one on the roof of his house go down or enter the house to take anything out. 16.Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. 17.How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 18.Pray that this will not take place in winter, 19.because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now--and never to be equaled again.

Mark 13:1-8

"너는 이 큰 건물들을 보고 있느냐? 여기에 돌 하나도 돌 위에 남지 않고 다 무너질 것이다." 3.예수께서 올리브 산에서 성전을 마주 보고 앉아 계실 때에, 베드로와 야고보와 요한과 안드레가 따로 예수께 물었다. 4."우리에게 말씀해 주십시오. 이런 일이 언제 일어나겠습니까? 또 이런 일들이 이루어지려고 할 때에는, 무슨 징조가 있겠습니까?" 5.예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "누구에게도 속지 않도록 조심하여라. 6.많은 사람이 내 이름으로 와서는 '내가 그리스도다' 하면서, 많은 사람을 속일 것이다. 7.또 너희는 여기저기에서 전쟁이 일어난 소식과 전쟁이 일어날 것이라는 소문을 듣게 되어도, 놀라지 말아라. 이런 일이 반드시 일어나야 한다. 그러나 아직 끝은 아니다. 8.민족과 민족이 맞서 일어나고, 나라와 나라가 맞서 일어날 것이며, 지진이 곳곳에서 일어나고, 기근이 들 것이다. 이런 일들은 진통의 시작이다. 1.As he was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, "Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!" 2."Do you see all these great buildings?" replied Jesus. "Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down." 3.As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately, 4."Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?" 5.Jesus said to them: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 6.Many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and will deceive many. 7.When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 8.Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.

Mark 12:41-44

"내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 헌금함에 돈을 넣은 사람들 가운데, 이 가난한 과부가 어느 누구보다도 더 많이 넣었다. 44.모두 다 넉넉한 데서 얼마씩을 떼어 넣었지만, 이 과부는 가난한 가운데서 가진 것 모두 곧 자기 생활비 전부를 털어 넣었다." 41.Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42.But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins,worth only a fraction of a penny. 43.Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44.They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything--all she had to live on."

Mark 12:35-40

예수께서 성전에서 가르치실 때에, 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "어찌하여 율법학자들은, 그리스도가 다윗의 자손이라고 하느냐? 36.다윗이 성령의 감동을 받아서 친히 이렇게 말하였다. While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked, "How is it that the teachers of the law say that the Christ is the son of David? 36.David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared: " 'The Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet." ' 37.David himself calls him 'Lord.' How then can he be his son?" The large crowd listened to him with delight. 38.As he taught, Jesus said, "Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, 39.and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. 40.They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely."

Mark 12:28-34

Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?" "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'There is no commandment greater than these." "Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.

Mark 12:18-27

The first one married and died without leaving any children. 21.The second one married the widow, but he also died, leaving no child. It was the same with the third. 22.In fact, none of the seven left any children. Last of all, the woman died too. 23.At the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?" 24.Jesus replied, "Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? 25.When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 26.Now about the dead rising--have you not read in the book of Moses, in the account of the bush, how God said to him, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? 27.He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"

Mark 12:13-17

You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not? 15.Should we pay or shouldn't we?" But Jesus knew their hypocrisy. "Why are you trying to trap me?" he asked. "Bring me a denarius and let me look at it." 16.They brought the coin, and he asked them, "Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?" "Caesar's," they replied. 17.Then Jesus said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." And they were amazed at him.

Mark 12:7-12

7.그러나 그 농부들은 서로 말하였다. He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others. 10.Haven't you read this scripture: " 'The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; 11.the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?" 12.Then they looked for a way to arrest him because they knew he had spoken the parable against them. But they were afraid of the crowd; so they left him and went away.

Mark 12:1-6

1.예수께서 그들에게 비유로 말씀하기 시작하셨다. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and went away on a journey. 2.At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants to collect from them some of the fruit of the vineyard. 3.But they seized him, beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 4.Then he sent another servant to them; they struck this man on the head and treated him shamefully. 5.He sent still another, and that one they killed. He sent many others; some of them they beat, others they killed. "He had one left to send, a son, whom he loved. He sent him last of all, saying, 'They will respect my son.'

Mark 11:27-33

"By what authority are you doing these things?" they asked. "And who gave you authority to do this?" Jesus replied, "I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. John's baptism--was it from heaven, or from men? Tell me!"They discussed it among themselves and said, "If we say, 'From heaven,' he will ask, 'Then why didn't you believe him?' But if we say, 'From men'...." (They feared the people, for everyone held that John really was a prophet.) So they answered Jesus, "We don't know." Jesus said, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things."

Mark 11:18-26

When evening came, they went out of the city. In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.Peter remembered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!" "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

Mark 11:12-17

Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard him say it. On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves,and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. And as he taught them, he said, "Is it not written: " 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'? But you have made it 'a den of robbers.'"

Mark 11:1-11

Untie it and bring it here. 3.If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.' " 4.They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, 5.some people standing there asked, "What are you doing, untying that colt?" 6.They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. 7.When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. 8.Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9.Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" 10."Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!" "Hosanna in the highest!" Jesus entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.

Mark 10:46-52

As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (that is, the Son of Timaeus), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47.When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" 48.Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" 49.Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they called to the blind man, "Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you." 50.Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. 51."What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see." 52."Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

Mark 10:35-45

"Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?" "We can," they answered. Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared."When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John. Jesus called them together and said, "You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Mark 10:32-34

They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, 34.who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him. Three days later he will rise."

Mark 10:21-31

"One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth. Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!" The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, "Who then can be saved?" Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." Peter said to him, "We have left everything to follow you!" "I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields--and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.But many who are first will be last, and the last first."

Mark 10:13-21

I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone. You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.'" "Teacher," he declared, "all these I have kept since I was a boy."Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

Mark 10:1-12

"What did Moses command you?" he replied. They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away." "It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law," Jesus replied."But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.' 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this.He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery."

Mark 9:38-50

"Teacher," said John, "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us." "Do not stop him," Jesus said. "No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward. "And if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck. If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, where " 'their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.' Everyone will be salted with fire. "Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other."

Mark 9:30-37

They will kill him, and after three days he will rise." But they did not understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him about it. They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them, "What were you arguing about on the road?" But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest. Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."He took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me."

Mark 9:14-29

"선생님, 내 아들을 선생님께 데려왔습니다. 그 아이는 말을 못하게 하는 귀신이 들려 있습니다. 어디서나 귀신이 아이를 사로잡으면, 아이를 거꾸러뜨립니다. 그러면 아이는 거품을 흘리며, 이를 갈며, 몸이 뻣뻣해집니다. 그래서 선생님의 제자들에게 그 귀신을 쫓아내 달라고 했으나, 그들은 쫓아내지 못했습니다." 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "아, 믿음이 없는 세대여, 내가 언제까지 너희와 함께 있어야 하겠느냐? 내가 언제까지 너희에게 참아야 하겠느냐? 아이를 내게 데려오너라." 그래서 그들이 아이를 예수께 데려왔다. 귀신이 예수를 보자, 아이에게 즉시 심한 경련을 일으켰다. 아이는 땅에 넘어져서, 거품을 흘리면서 뒹굴었다. 예수께서 그 아버지에게 물으셨다. "아이가 이렇게 된 지 얼마나 되었느냐?" 그가 대답하였다. "어릴 때부터입니다. 귀신이 그 아이를 죽이려고, 여러 번, 불 속에도 던지고, 물 속에도 던졌습니다. 하실 수 있으면, 우리를 불쌍히 여기시고, 도와주십시오." 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "'할 수 있으면'이 무슨 말이냐? 믿는 사람에게는 모든 일이 가능하다." 그 아이 아버지는 큰소리로 외쳐 말했다. "내가 믿습니다. 믿음 없는 나를 도와주십시오." 예수께서 무리가 어울려 달려오는 것을 보시고, 악한 귀신을 꾸짖어 말씀하셨다. "벙어리와 귀머거리가 되게 하는 귀신아, 내가 너에게 명한다. 그 아이에게서 나가라. 그리고 다시는 그에게 들어가지 말아라." 그러자 귀신은 소리를 지르고서, 아이에게 심한 경련을 일으켜 놓고 나갔다. 아이는 죽은 것과 같이 되었다. 그래서 사람들은 모두 말하기를 "아이가 죽었다" 하였다. 그런데 예수께서 아이의 손을 잡아서 일으키시니, 아이가 일어섰다. 예수께서 집 안으로 들어가시니, 제자들이 따로 그에게 물어 보았다. "왜 우리는 귀신을 쫓아내지 못했습니까?" 예수께서 그들에게 대답하셨다. "이런 부류는 기도로 쫓아내지 않고는, 어떤 수로도 쫓아낼 수 없다." When they came to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them. As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him. "What are you arguing with them about?" he asked. A man in the crowd answered, "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not." "O unbelieving generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me." So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth. Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?" "From childhood," he answered. "It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." " 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit. "You deaf and mute spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again." The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He's dead." But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up. After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" He replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer."

Mark 9:1-13

또 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 여기에 서 있는 사람들 가운데는, 죽기 전에 하나님의 나라가 권능을 떨치며 와 있는 것을 볼 사람들도 있다." 그리고 엿새 뒤에 예수께서 베드로와 야고보와 요한만을 데리고, 따로 높은 산으로 가셨다. 그런데, 그들이 보는 앞에서, 그의 모습이 변하였다. 그 옷은 세상의 어떤 빨래꾼이라도 그렇게 희게 할 수 없을 만큼 새하얗게 빛났다. 그리고 엘리야가 모세와 함께 그들에게 나타나더니, 예수와 말을 주고받았다. 그래서 베드로가 예수께 말하였다. "랍비님, 우리가 여기에 있는 것이 좋겠습니다. 우리가 초막 셋을 지어서, 하나에는 랍비님을, 하나에는 모세를, 하나에는 엘리야를 모시겠습니다."베드로는 무슨 말을 해야 좋을지 몰라서 이런 말을 했던 것이다. 제자들이 겁에 질렸기 때문이다. 그런데 구름이 일어나서, 그들을 뒤덮었다. 그리고 구름 속에서 소리가 났다. After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters--one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah."(He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.) Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!" Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus. As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead. They kept the matter to themselves, discussing what "rising from the dead" meant.And they asked him, "Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?" Jesus replied, "To be sure, Elijah does come first, and restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer much and be rejected? But I tell you, Elijah has come, and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him."

Mark 8:31-38

그리고 예수께서는, 인자가 반드시 많은 고난을 받고, 장로들과 대제사장들과 율법학자들에게 배척을 받아, 죽임을 당하고 나서, 사흘 후에 살아나야 한다는 것을 그들에게 가르치기 시작하셨다. 예수께서 드러내 놓고 이 말씀을 하시니, 베드로가 예수를 바싹 잡아당기고, 그에게 항의하였다. 그러나 예수께서는 돌아서서, 제자들을 보시고, 베드로를 꾸짖어 말씀하셨다. "사탄아, 내 뒤로 물러가라. 너는 하나님의 일을 생각하지 않고, 사람의 일만 생각하는구나!" 그리고 예수께서 제자들과 함께 무리를 불러 놓고 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "나를 따라오려고 하는 사람은, 자기를 부인하고, 자기 십자가를 지고, 나를 따라오너라. 누구든지 제 목숨을 구하고자 하는 사람은 잃을 것이요, 누구든지 나와 복음을 위하여 제 목숨을 잃는 사람은 구할 것이다.사람이 온 세상을 얻고도 제 목숨을 잃으면, 무슨 이득이 있겠느냐? 사람이 제 목숨을 되찾는 대가로 무엇을 내놓겠느냐? 음란하고 죄가 많은 이 세대에서, 누구든지 나와 내 말을 부끄럽게 여기면, 인자도 자기 아버지의 영광에 싸여 거룩한 천사들을 거느리고 올 때에, 그를 부끄럽게 여길 것이다."He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. "Get behind me, Satan!" he said. "You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men." Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."

Mark 8:27-30

예수께서 제자들과 함께 빌립보의 가이사랴에 있는 여러 마을로 길을 나서셨는데, 도중에 제자들에게 물으셨다. "사람들이 나를 누구라고 하느냐?" 제자들이 예수께 말하였다. "세례자 요한이라고 합니다. 엘리야라고 하는 사람들도 있고, 또 예언자 가운데 한 분이라고 하는 사람들도 있습니다." 예수께서 그들에게 물으셨다. "그러면, 너희는 나를 누구라고 하느냐?" 베드로가 예수께 대답하였다. "선생님은 그리스도이십니다." 예수께서 그들에게 엄중히 경고하시기를, 자기에 관하여 아무에게도 말하지 말라고 하셨다.Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, "Who do people say I am?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets." "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ." Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.

Mark 8:22-26

그리고 그들은 벳새다로 갔다. 사람들이 눈먼 사람 하나를 예수께 데려와서, 손을 대 주시기를 간청하였다. 예수께서 그 눈먼 사람의 손을 붙드시고, 마을 바깥으로 데리고 나가셔서, 그 두 눈에 침을 뱉고, 그에게 손을 얹으시고서 물으셨다. "무엇이 보이느냐?" 그 사람이 쳐다보고 말하였다. "사람들이 보입니다. 나무 같은 것들이 걸어 다니는 것 같습니다." 그 때에 예수께서는 다시 그 사람의 두 눈에 손을 얹으셨다. 그 사람이 뚫어지듯이 바라보더니, 시력을 회복하여 모든 것을 똑똑히 보게 되었다.예수께서 그를 집으로 돌려보내시며 말씀하셨다. "마을로 들어가지 말아라."They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, "Do you see anything?" He looked up and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking around." Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.Jesus sent him home, saying, "Don't go into the village."

Mark 8:14-21

"열두 광주리입니다." "빵 일곱 개를 사천 명에게 떼어 주었을 때에는, 남은 부스러기를 몇 광주리나 가득 거두었느냐?" 그들이 대답하였다. "일곱 광주리입니다." 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "너희가 아직도 깨닫지 못하느냐?" The disciples had forgotten to bring bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat. "Be careful," Jesus warned them. "Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees and that of Herod."They discussed this with one another and said, "It is because we have no bread." Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: "Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don't you remember? When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?" "Twelve," they replied. "And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?" They answered, "Seven." He said to them, "Do you still not understand?"

Mark 8:1-13

그 무렵에 다시 큰 무리가 모여 있었는데, 먹을 것이 없었다. 예수께서 제자들을 가까이 불러 놓고 말씀하셨다. "저 무리가 나와 함께 있은 지가 벌써 사흘이나 되었는데, 먹을 것이 없으니 가엾다. 내가 그들을 굶은 채로 집으로 돌려보내면, 길에서 쓰러질 것이다. 더구나 그 가운데는 먼 데서 온 사람들도 있다." 제자들이 예수께 말하였다. "이 빈 들에서, 어느 누가, 무슨 수로, 이 모든 사람이 먹을 빵을 장만할 수 있겠습니까?" 예수께서 그들에게 물으셨다. "너희에게 빵이 몇 개나 있느냐?" 그들이 대답하였다. "일곱 개가 있습니다."예수께서는 무리에게 명하여 땅에 앉게 하셨다. 그리고 빵 일곱 개를 들어서, 감사 기도를 드리신 뒤에, 떼어서 제자들에게 주시고, 사람들에게 나누어 주게 하시니, 제자들이 무리에게 나누어 주었다. 또 그들에게는 작은 물고기가 몇 마리 있었는데, 예수께서 그것을 축복하신 뒤에, 그것도 사람들에게 나누어 주게 하셨다. 그리하여 사람들이 배불리 먹었으며, 남은 부스러기를 주워 모으니, 일곱 광주리에 가득 찼다. 사람은 사천 명쯤이었다. 예수께서는 그들을 헤쳐 보내셨다. 그리고 곧 제자들과 함께 배에 올라, 달마누다 지방으로 가셨다.바리새파 사람들이 나와서는, 예수에게 시비를 걸기 시작하였다. 그들은 예수를 시험하느라고 그에게 하늘로부터 내리는 표징을 요구하였다. 예수께서는 마음 속으로 깊이 탄식하시고서 말씀하셨다. "어찌하여 이 세대가 표징을 요구하는가! 내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 이 세대는 아무 표징도 받지 못할 것이다." 그리고 예수께서는 그들을 떠나, 다시 배를 타고 건너편으로 가셨다.During those days another large crowd gathered. Since they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way, because some of them have come a long distance." His disciples answered, "But where in this remote place can anyone get enough bread to feed them?" "How many loaves do you have?" Jesus asked. "Seven," they replied.He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. When he had taken the seven loaves and given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to set before the people, and they did so. They had a few small fish as well; he gave thanks for them also and told the disciples to distribute them. The people ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. About four thousand men were present. And having sent them away, he got into the boat with his disciples and went to the region of Dalmanutha.The Pharisees came and began to question Jesus. To test him, they asked him for a sign from heaven. He sighed deeply and said, "Why does this generation ask for a miraculous sign? I tell you the truth, no sign will be given to it." Then he left them, got back into the boat and crossed to the other side.

Mark 7:31-37

예수께서 다시 두로 지역을 떠나, 시돈을 거쳐서, 데가볼리 지역 가운데를 지나, 갈릴리 바다에 오셨다. 그런데 사람들이 귀 먹고 말 더듬는 사람을 예수께 데리고 와서, 손을 얹어 주시기를 간청하였다. 예수께서 그를 무리로부터 따로 데려가서, 손가락을 그의 귀에 넣고, 침을 뱉어서, 그의 혀에 손을 대셨다. 그리고 하늘을 우러러보시고서 탄식하시고, 그에게 말씀하시기를 "에바다" 하셨다. （그것은 열리라는 뜻이다.） 그러자 곧 그의 귀가 열리고 혀가 풀려서, 말을 똑바로 하였다.예수께서 이 일을 아무에게도 말하지 말라고 그들에게 명하셨으나, 말리면 말릴수록, 그들은 더욱더 널리 퍼뜨렸다. 사람들이 몹시 놀라서 말하였다. "그가 하시는 일은 모두 훌륭하다. 듣지 못하는 사람도 듣게 하시고, 말 못하는 사람도 말하게 하신다."Then Jesus left the vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon, down to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of the Decapolis. There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him to place his hand on the man. After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man's ears. Then he spit and touched the man's tongue. He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!" ). At this, the man's ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it. People were overwhelmed with amazement. "He has done everything well," they said. "He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak."

Mark 7:24-30

예수께서 거기에서 일어나셔서, 두로 지역으로 가셨다. 그리고 어떤 집에 들어가셨는데, 아무도 그것을 모르기를 바라셨으나, 숨어 계실 수가 없었다. 악한 귀신 들린 딸을 둔 여자가 곧바로 예수의 소문을 듣고 와서, 그의 발 앞에 엎드렸다.그 여자는 그리스 사람으로서, 시로페니키아 출생인데, 자기 딸에게서 귀신을 쫓아내 달라고 예수께 간청하였다. 예수께서 그 여자에게 말씀하셨다. "네가 그렇게 말하니, 돌아가거라, 귀신이 네 딸에게서 나갔다." 그 여자가 집에 돌아가서 보니, 아이는 침대에 누워 있고, 귀신은 이미 나가고 없었다.Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret. In fact, as soon as she heard about him, a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an evil spirit came and fell at his feet.The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. "First let the children eat all they want," he told her, "for it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs." "Yes, Lord," she replied, "but even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs." Then he told her, "For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter." She went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon gone.

Mark 7:17-23

예수께서 무리를 떠나 집으로 들어가셨을 때에, 제자들이 그 비유를 두고 물었다. 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "너희도 아직 깨닫지 못하느냐? 밖에서 사람의 몸 속으로 들어가는 것이 사람을 더럽히지 못한다는 것을 알지 못하느냐? 밖에서 사람 안으로 들어가는 것은 무엇이든지, 사람의 마음 속으로 들어가지 않고, 뱃속으로 들어가서 뒤로 나가기 때문이다." 예수께서는 이런 말씀을 하여 모든 음식은 깨끗하다고 하셨다. 또 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "사람에게서 나오는 것, 그것이 사람을 더럽힌다. 나쁜 생각은 사람의 마음에서 나오는데, 곧 음행과 도둑질과 살인과 간음과 탐욕과 악의와 사기와 방탕과 악한 시선과 모독과 교만과 어리석음이다. 이런 악한 것이 모두 속에서 나와서 사람을 더럽힌다." After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. "Are you so dull?" he asked. "Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him 'unclean'? For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods "clean.") He went on: "What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean.' For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.' "

Mark 7:8-16

너희는 하나님의 계명을 버리고, 사람의 전통을 지키고 있다." 또 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "너희는 너희의 전통을 지키려고 하나님의 계명을 잘도 저버린다. 모세가 말하기를 '네 아버지와 네 어머니를 공경하여라' 하고, 또 '아버지나 어머니를 욕하는 자는 반드시 죽을 것이다' 하였다.그러나 너희는 말한다. 누구든지 아버지나 어머니에게 말하기를 '내게서 받으실 것이 고르반（곧 하나님께 드리는 예물）이 되었습니다' 하고 말만 하면 그만이라고 말한다. 그러면서 아버지나 어머니에게 그 이상 아무것도 해 드리지 못하게 한다. 너희는 너희가 물려받은 전통을 가지고, 하나님의 말씀을 헛되게 하며, 또 이와 같은 일을 많이 한다." 예수께서 다시 무리를 가까이 부르시고서, 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "너희는 모두 내 말을 듣고 깨달아라. 무엇이든지 사람 밖에서 사람 안으로 들어가는 것으로서 그 사람을 더럽히는 것은 아무것도 없다.사람에게서 나오는 것이 그 사람을 더럽힌다."You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men." And he said to them: "You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.'But you say that if a man says to his father or mother: 'Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is Corban' (that is, a gift devoted to God), then you no longer let him do anything for his father or mother. Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that." Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a man can make him 'unclean' by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him 'unclean.' "

Mark 7:1-7

'이 백성은 입술로는 나를 공경해도, 마음은 내게서 멀리 떠나 있다. 그들은 사람의 훈계를 교리로 가르치며, 나를 헛되이 예배한다.'The Pharisees and some of the teachers of the law who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus and saw some of his disciples eating food with hands that were "unclean," that is, unwashed. (The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders. When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles.) So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, "Why don't your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with 'unclean' hands?"He replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: " 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'

Mark 6:45-56

When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land. He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them, but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed, for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened. When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret and anchored there. As soon as they got out of the boat, people recognized Jesus. They ran throughout that whole region and carried the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was.And wherever he went--into villages, towns or countryside--they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed.

Mark 6:30-44

사도들이 예수께로 몰려와서, 자기들이 한 일과 가르친 일을 다 그에게 보고하였다.그 때에 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "너희는 따로 외딴 곳으로 와서, 좀 쉬어라." 거기에는 오고가는 사람이 하도 많아서 음식을 먹을 겨를조차 없었기 때문이다. 그래서 그들은 배를 타고, 따로 외딴 곳으로 떠나갔다. 그런데 많은 사람이 이것을 보고, 그들인 줄 알고, 여러 마을에서 발걸음을 재촉하여 그 곳으로 함께 달려가서, 그들보다 먼저 그 곳에 이르렀다. 예수께서 배에서 내려서 큰 무리를 보시고, 그들이 마치 목자 없는 양과 같으므로, 그들을 불쌍히 여기셨다. 그래서 그들에게 여러 가지로 가르치기 시작하셨다. 날이 이미 저물었으므로, 제자들이 예수께 다가와서 말하였다. The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught.Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things. By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came to him. "This is a remote place," they said, "and it's already very late. Send the people away so they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat." But he answered, "You give them something to eat." They said to him, "That would take eight months of a man's wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?" "How many loaves do you have?" he asked. "Go and see." When they found out, they said, "Five--and two fish." Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand.

Mark 6:14-29

King Herod heard about this, for Jesus' name had become well known. Some were saying, "John the Baptist has been raised from the dead, and that is why miraculous powers are at work in him." Others said, "He is Elijah." And still others claimed, "He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of long ago." But when Herod heard this, he said, "John, the man I beheaded, has been raised from the dead!" For Herod himself had given orders to have John arrested, and he had him bound and put in prison. He did this because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, whom he had married. For John had been saying to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife." So Herodias nursed a grudge against John and wanted to kill him. But she was not able to, because Herod feared John and protected him, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man. When Herod heard John, he was greatly puzzled; yet he liked to listen to him. Finally the opportune time came. On his birthday Herod gave a banquet for his high officials and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee. When the daughter of Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests. The king said to the girl, "Ask me for anything you want, and I'll give it to you." And he promised her with an oath, "Whatever you ask I will give you, up to half my kingdom." She went out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask for?" "The head of John the Baptist," she answered. At once the girl hurried in to the king with the request: "I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptist on a platter." The king was greatly distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he did not want to refuse her. So he immediately sent an executioner with orders to bring John's head. The man went, beheaded John in the prison, and brought back his head on a platter. He presented it to the girl, and she gave it to her mother. On hearing of this, John's disciples came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.

Mark 6:7-13

"어디서 어느 집에 들어가든지, 그 곳을 떠날 때까지 거기에 머물러 있어라.어느 곳에서든지, 너희를 영접하지 않거나, 너희의 말을 듣지 않거든, 그 곳을 떠날 때에 너희의 발에 묻은 먼지를 떨어서, 그들을 고발할 증거물로 삼아라." 그들은 나가서, 회개하라고 선포하였다. 그들은 많은 귀신을 쫓아내며, 수많은 병자에게 기름을 발라서 병을 고쳐 주었다.Calling the Twelve to him, he sent them out two by two and gave them authority over evil spirits. These were his instructions: "Take nothing for the journey except a staff--no bread, no bag, no money in your belts. Wear sandals but not an extra tunic. Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town.And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave, as a testimony against them." They went out and preached that people should repent. They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.

Mark 6:1-6

예수께서 거기를 떠나사 고향으로 가시니 제자들도 따르니라 안식일이 되어 회당에서 가르치시니 많은 사람이 듣고 놀라 이르되 이 사람이 어디서 이런 것을 얻었느냐 이 사람이 받은 지혜와 그 손으로 이루어지는 이런 권능이 어찌됨이냐 이 사람이 마리아의 아들 목수가 아니냐 야고보와 요셉과 유다와 시몬의 형제가 아니냐 그 누이들이 우리와 함께 여기 있지 아니하냐 하고 예수를 배척한지라 예수께서 그들에게 이르시되 선지자가 자기 고향과 자기 친척과 자기 집 외에서는 존경을 받지 못함이 없느니라 하시며 거기서는 아무 권능도 행하실 수 없어 다만 소수의 병자에게 안수하여 고치실 뿐이었고그들이 믿지 않음을 이상히 여기셨더라 이에 모든 촌에 두루 다니시며 가르치시더라Jesus left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples. When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. "Where did this man get these things?" they asked. "What's this wisdom that has been given him, that he even does miracles! Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him. Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor." He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.And he was amazed at their lack of faith. Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village.

Mark 5:35-43

"Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother the teacher any more?" Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, "Don't be afraid; just believe." He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. When they came to the home of the synagogue ruler, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. He went in and said to them, "Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep." But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child's father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. He took her by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum!" (which means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!" ). Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

Mark 5:21-34

예수께서 배를 타고 맞은편으로 다시 건너가시니, 큰 무리가 예수께로 모여들었다. 예수께서 바닷가에 계시는데, 회당장 가운데서 야이로라고 하는 사람이 찾아와서 예수를 뵙고, 그 발 아래에 엎드려서 간곡히 청하였다. "내 어린 딸이 죽게 되었습니다. 오셔서, 그 아이에게 손을 얹어 고쳐 주시고, 살려 주십시오." 그래서 예수께서 그와 함께 가셨다. 큰 무리가 뒤따라오면서 예수를 밀어댔다. 그런데 열두 해 동안 혈루증을 앓아 온 여자가 있었다.여러 의사에게 보이면서, 고생도 많이 하고, 재산도 다 없앴으나, 아무 효력이 없었고, 상태는 더 악화되었다. 이 여자가 예수의 소문을 듣고서, 뒤에서 무리 가운데로 끼여 들어와서는, 예수의 옷에 손을 대었다. （그 여자는 "내가 그의 옷에 손을 대기만 하여도 나을 터인데!" 하고 생각하고 있었던 것이다.） 그래서 곧 출혈의 근원이 마르니, 그 여자는 몸이 나은 것을 느꼈다. 예수께서는 곧 자기에게서 능력이 나간 것을 몸으로 느끼시고, 무리 가운데서 돌아서서 "누가 내 옷에 손을 대었느냐?" 하고 물으셨다.제자들이 예수께 "무리가 선생님을 에워싸고 떠밀고 있는데, 누가 손을 대었느냐고 물으십니까?" 하고 반문하였다. 그러나 예수께서는 그렇게 한 여자를 보려고 둘러보셨다. 그 여자는 자기에게 일어난 일을 알므로, 두려워하여 떨면서, 예수께로 나아와 엎드려서 사실대로 다 말하였다. 그러자 예수께서 그 여자에게 말씀하셨다. "딸아, 네 믿음이 너를 구원하였다. 안심하고 가거라. 그리고 이 병에서 벗어나서 건강하여라."When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. Then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came there. Seeing Jesus, he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him, "My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live." So Jesus went with him. A large crowd followed and pressed around him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years.She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed." Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, "Who touched my clothes?""You see the people crowding against you," his disciples answered, "and yet you can ask, 'Who touched me?' " But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."

Mark 5:14-20

"네 집으로 가서, 가족에게, 주님께서 너에게 큰 은혜를 베푸셔서 너를 불쌍히 여겨 주신 일을 이야기하여라." 그는 떠나가서, 예수께서 자기에게 하신 일을 데가볼리에 전파하였다. 그리하니 사람들이 다 놀랐다. Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed man--and told about the pigs as well. Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region. As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, "Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you." So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolishow much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.

Mark 5:1-13

When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an evil spirit came from the tombs to meet him. This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain. For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. He shouted at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won't torture me!" For Jesus had said to him, "Come out of this man, you evil spirit!" Then Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" "My name is Legion," he replied, "for we are many." And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area. A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. The demons begged Jesus, "Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them." He gave them permission, and the evil spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.

Mark 4:35-41

그 날 저녁이 되었을 때에, 예수께서 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. "선생님, 우리가 죽게 되었는데도, 아무렇지도 않으십니까?" 예수께서 일어나 바람을 꾸짖으시고, 바다더러 "고요하고, 잠잠하여라" 하고 말씀하시니, 바람이 그치고, 아주 고요해졌다. 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "왜들 무서워하느냐? 아직도 믿음이 없느냐?"그들은 큰 두려움에 사로잡혀서 서로 말하였다. "이분이 누구이기에, 바람과 바다까지도 그에게 복종하는가?"That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side."Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"

Mark 4:30-34

예수께서 또 말씀하셨다. "우리가 하나님의 나라를 어떻게 비길까? 또는 무슨 비유로 그것을 나타낼까?겨자씨와 같으니, 그것은 땅에 심을 때에는 세상에 있는 어떤 씨보다도 더 작다. 그러나 심고 나면 자라서, 어떤 풀보다 더 큰 가지들을 뻗어, 공중의 새들이 그 그늘에 깃들일 수 있게 된다." 예수께서는, 그들이 알아들을 수 있는 정도로, 이와 같이 많은 비유로 말씀을 전하셨다. 비유가 아니면 말씀하지 않으셨으나, 제자들에게는 따로 모든 것을 설명해 주셨다.Again he said, "What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it?It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest seed you plant in the ground. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds of the air can perch in its shade." With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.

Mark 4:21-29

예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "사람이 등불을 가져다가 말 아래에나, 침상 아래에 두겠느냐? 등경 위에다가 두지 않겠느냐? 숨겨 둔 것은 드러나고, 감추어 둔 것은 나타나기 마련이다. 들을 귀가 있는 사람은 들어라." 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "너희는 새겨들어라. 너희가 되질하여 주는 만큼 너희에게 되질하여 주실 것이요, 덤으로 더 주실 것이다. 가진 사람은 더 받을 것이요, 가지지 못한 사람은 그 가진 것마저 빼앗길 것이다." 예수께서 또 말씀하셨다. "하나님 나라는 이렇게 비유할 수 있다. 어떤 사람이 땅에 씨를 뿌려 놓고, 밤낮 자고 일어나고 하는 사이에 그 씨에서 싹이 나고 자라지만, 그 사람은 어떻게 그렇게 되는지를 알지 못한다. 땅이 저절로 열매를 맺게 하는데, 처음에는 싹을 내고, 그 다음에는 이삭을 내고, 또 그 다음에는 이삭에 알찬 낟알을 낸다. 열매가 익으면, 곧 낫을 댄다. 추수 때가 왔기 때문이다." He said to them, "Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don't you put it on its stand? For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." "Consider carefully what you hear," he continued. "With the measure you use, it will be measured to you--and even more. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him." He also said, "This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain--first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come."

Mark 4:10-20

예수께서 혼자 계실 때에, 예수의 주위에 둘러 있는 사람들이, 열두 제자와 함께, 그 비유들이 무슨 뜻인지를 예수께 물었다. 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "너희가 이 비유를 알아듣지 못하면서, 어떻게 모든 비유를 이해하겠느냐? 씨를 뿌리는 사람은 말씀을 뿌리는 것이다. 길가에 뿌려지는 것들이란 이런 사람들이다. 그들에게 말씀이 뿌려질 때에 그들이 말씀을 듣기는 하지만, 곧바로 사탄이 와서, 그들에게 뿌려진 그 말씀을 빼앗아 간다. 돌짝밭에 뿌려지는 것들이란 이런 사람들이다. 그들은 말씀을 들으면 곧 기쁘게 받아들이기는 하지만, 그들 속에 뿌리가 없어서 오래가지 못하고, 그 말씀 때문에 환난이나 박해가 일어나면 곧 걸려 넘어진다. 가시덤불 속에 뿌려지는 것들이란 달리 이런 사람들을 가리키는데, 그들은 말씀을 듣기는 하지만, 세상의 염려와 재물의 유혹과 그 밖에 다른 일의 욕심이 들어와 말씀을 막아서 열매를 맺지 못한다. 좋은 땅에 뿌려지는 것들이란 이런 사람들이다. 그들은 말씀을 듣고 받아들여서, 삼십 배, 육십 배, 백 배의 열매를 맺는다." When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. He told them, "The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, " 'they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!'" Then Jesus said to them, "Don't you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable? The farmer sows the word. Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop--thirty, sixty or even a hundred times what was sown."

Mark 4:1-9

"들을 귀가 있는 사람은 들어라." Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water's edge. He taught them many things by parables, and in his teaching said: "Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times." Then Jesus said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

Mark 3:23-35

그래서 예수께서 그들을 불러 놓고, 비유로 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "사탄이 어떻게 사탄을 쫓아낼 수 있느냐? 한 나라가 갈라져서 서로 싸우면, 그 나라는 버틸 수 없다. 또 한 가정이 갈라져서 싸우면, 그 가정은 버티지 못할 것이다. 사탄이 스스로에게 반란을 일으켜서 갈라지면, 버틸 수 없고, 끝장이 난다. 먼저 힘센 사람을 묶어 놓지 않고서는, 아무도 그 사람의 집에 들어가서 세간을 털어 갈 수 없다. 묶어 놓은 뒤에야, 그 집을 털어 갈 것이다. 내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 사람들이 짓는 모든 죄와 그들이 하는 어떤 비방도 용서를 받을 것이다. 그러나 성령을 모독하는 사람은 용서를 받지 못하고, 영원한 죄에 매인다." 예수께서 이 말씀을 하신 것은, 사람들이 "그는 악한 귀신이 들렸다" 하고 말하였기 때문이다. 그 때에 예수의 어머니와 동생들이 찾아와, 바깥에 서서, 사람을 들여보내어 예수를 불렀다. 무리가 예수의 주위에 둘러앉아 있다가, 그에게 말하였다. So Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. In fact, no one can enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can rob his house. I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin." He said this because they were saying, "He has an evil spirit." Then Jesus' mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, "Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you." "Who are my mother and my brothers?" he asked. Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does God's will is my brother and sister and mother."

Mark 3:13-22

He appointed twelve--designating them apostles--that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons.These are the twelve he appointed: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means Sons of Thunder Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat.When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, "He is out of his mind." And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons." So Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan?

Mark 3:7-12

예수께서 제자들과 함께 바닷가로 물러가시니, 갈릴리에서 많은 사람이 따라왔다. 또한 유대와 예루살렘과 이두매와 요단 강 건너편과 그리고 두로와 시돈 근처에서도, 많은 사람이 그가 하신 모든 일을 소문으로 듣고, 그에게로 몰려왔다. 예수께서는 무리가 자기에게 밀려드는 혼잡을 피하시려고, 제자들에게 분부하여 작은 배 한 척을 마련하게 하셨다. 그가 많은 사람을 고쳐 주셨으므로, 온갖 병으로 고통받는 사람들이, 누구나 그에게 손을 대려고 밀려들었기 때문이다. 또 악한 귀신들은 예수를 보기만 하면, 그 앞에 엎드려서 외쳤다. "당신은 하나님의 아들입니다." 그러면 예수께서는 "나를 세상에 드러내지 말아라" 하고, 그들을 엄하게 꾸짖으셨다. Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed. When they heard all he was doing, many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon. Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from crowding him. For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him. Whenever the evil spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, "You are the Son of God." But he gave them strict orders not to tell who he was.

Mark 3:1-6

예수께서 다시 회당에 들어가셨다. 그런데 거기에 한쪽 손이 오그라든 사람이 있었다. 사람들은 예수를 고발하려고, 예수가 안식일에 그 사람을 고쳐 주시는지를 보려고, 예수를 지켜보고 있었다. 예수께서 손이 오그라든 사람에게 말씀하셨다. "일어나서 가운데로 나오너라." 그리고 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "안식일에 선한 일을 하는 것이 옳으냐? 악한 일을 하는 것이 옳으냐? 목숨을 구하는 것이 옳으냐? 죽이는 것이 옳으냐?" 그들은 잠잠하였다. 예수께서 노하셔서, 그들을 둘러보시고, 그들의 마음이 굳어진 것을 탄식하시면서, 손이 오그라든 사람에게 말씀하셨다. "손을 내밀어라." 그 사람이 손을 내미니, 그의 손이 회복되었다. 그러자 바리새파 사람들은 바깥으로 나가서, 곧바로 헤롯 당원들과 함께 예수를 없앨 모의를 하였다. Another time he went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath. Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, "Stand up in front of everyone." Then Jesus asked them, "Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?" But they remained silent. He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.

Mark 2:23-27

안식일에 예수께서 밀밭 사이로 지나가시게 되었다. 제자들이 길을 내면서, 밀 이삭을 자르기 시작하였다. 바리새파 사람이 예수께 말하였다. "보십시오, 어찌하여 이 사람들은 안식일에 해서는 안 되는 일을 합니까?" 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "다윗과 그 일행이 먹을 것이 없어서 굶주릴 때에, 다윗이 어떻게 하였는지를 너희는 읽지 못하였느냐?아비아달 대제사장 때에, 다윗이 하나님의 집에 들어가서, 제사장들 밖에는 먹어서는 안 되는 제단 빵을 먹고, 그 일행에게도 주지 않았느냐?" 그리고 예수께서는 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "안식일이 사람을 위하여 생긴 것이지, 사람이 안식일을 위하여 생긴 것이 아니다. 그러므로 인자는 또한 안식일에도 주인이다."One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain. The Pharisees said to him, "Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?" He answered, "Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need?In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions." Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

Mark 2:18-22

요한의 제자들과 바리새파 사람들은 금식하고 있었다. 사람들이 예수께 와서 물었다. "요한의 제자들과 바리새파 사람의 제자들은 금식하는데, 왜 선생님의 제자들은 금식하지 않습니까?" 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. Now John's disciples and the Pharisees were fasting. Some people came and asked Jesus, "How is it that John's disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees are fasting, but yours are not?" Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? They cannot, so long as they have him with them. But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and on that day they will fast. "No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wineskins."

Mark 2:13-17

예수께서 다시 바닷가로 나가셨다. 무리가 모두 예수께로 나아오니, 그가 그들을 가르치셨다. 예수께서 길을 가시다가, 알패오의 아들 레위가 세관에 앉아 있는 것을 보시고 말씀하셨다. A large crowd came to him, and he began to teach them. As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow me," Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him. While Jesus was having dinner at Levi's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the "sinners" and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: "Why does he eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?" On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Mark 2:1-12

며칠이 지나서, 예수께서 다시 가버나움으로 들어가셨다. 예수가 집에 계신다는 말이 퍼지니, 많은 사람이 모여들어서, 마침내 문 앞에조차도 들어설 자리가 없었다. 예수께서 그들에게 말씀을 전하셨다. 그 때에 한 중풍병 환자를 네 사람이 데리고 왔다. 무리 때문에 예수께로 데리고 갈 수 없어서, 예수가 계신 곳 위의 지붕을 걷어내고, 구멍을 뚫어서, 중풍병 환자가 누워 있는 자리를 달아 내렸다. 예수께서는 그들의 믿음을 보시고, 중풍병 환자에게 "이 사람아! 네 죄가 용서받았다" 하고 말씀하셨다. 율법학자 몇이 거기에 앉아 있다가, 마음 속으로 의아하게 생각하기를 '이 사람이 어찌하여 이런 말을 한단 말이냐? 하나님을 모독하는구나. 하나님 한 분 밖에, 누가 죄를 용서할 수 있는가?' 하였다. 예수께서, 그들이 속으로 이렇게 생각하는 것을 곧바로 마음으로 알아채시고 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "어찌하여 너희는 마음 속에 그런 생각을 품고 있느냐? 중풍병 환자에게 '네 죄가 용서받았다' 하고 말하는 것과 '일어나서 네 자리를 걷어서 걸어가거라' 하고 말하는 것 가운데서, 어느 쪽이 더 말하기가 쉬우냐? 그러나 인자가 땅에서 죄를 용서하는 권세를 가지고 있음을 너희에게 알려주겠다." -예수께서 중풍병 환자에게 말씀하셨다. "내가 네게 말한다. 일어나서, 네 자리를 걷어서 집으로 가거라." 그러자 중풍병 환자가 일어나, 곧바로 모든 사람이 보는 앞에서 자리를 걷어서 나갔다. 사람들은 모두 크게 놀라서 하나님을 찬양하고 "우리는 이런 일을 전혀 본 적이 없다" 하고 말하였다. A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven." Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . ." He said to the paralytic, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"
