1 Peter 1:22-25

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word that was preached to you.

1 Peter 1:17-21

He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.

1 Peter 1:13-16

As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."

1 Peter 1:11-12

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

1 Peter 1:6-10

These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care,

1st Peter 1:1-5

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

James 5:17-20

My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

James 5:13-16

He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

James 5:7-12

Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. Above all, my brothers, do not swear--not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. Let your "Yes" be yes, and your "No," no, or you will be condemned.

James 5:1-6

부자들은 들으십시오. 여러분에게 닥쳐올 비참한 일들을 생각하고 울며 부르짖으십시오.
여러분의 재물은 썩고, 여러분의 옷들은 좀먹었습니다.
여러분의 금과 은은 녹이 슬었으니, 그 녹은 장차 여러분을 고발할 증거가 될 것이요, 불과 같이 여러분의 살을 먹을 것입니다. 여러분은 세상 마지막 날에도 재물을 쌓았습니다.
보십시오, 여러분의 밭에서 곡식을 벤 일꾼들에게 주지 않고 가로챈 품삯이 소리를 지르고 있습니다. 그래서 그 일꾼들의 아우성소리가 전능하신 주님의 귀에 들어갔습니다.

Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes.
Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.
Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.
You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.You have condemned and murdered innocent men, who were not opposing you.

James 4:13-17

"오늘이나 내일 어느 도시에 가서, 일 년 동안 거기에서 지내며, 장사하여 돈을 벌겠다" 하는 사람들이여, 들으십시오. 여러분은 내일 일을 알지 못합니다. 여러분의 생명이 무엇입니까? 여러분은 잠깐 나타났다가 사라져버리는 안개에 지나지 않습니다. 도리어 여러분은 이렇게 말해야 할 것입니다. "주님께서 원하시면, 우리가 살 것이고, 또 이런 일이나 저런 일을 할 것이다."그런데 여러분은 지금 우쭐대면서 자랑하고 있습니다. 그와 같은 자랑은 다 악한 것입니다. 그러므로 사람이 해야 할 선한 일이 무엇인지 알면서도 하지 않으면, 그것은 그에게 죄가 됩니다.Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil.
Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.

James 4:11-12

형제자매 여러분, 서로 헐뜯지 마십시오. 자기 형제자매를 헐뜯거나 심판하는 사람은, 율법을 헐뜯고 율법을 심판하는 것입니다. 그대가 율법을 심판하면, 그대는 율법을 행하는 사람이 아니라 율법을 심판하는 사람입니다.
율법을 제정하신 분과 심판하시는 분은 한 분이십니다. 그는 구원하실 수도 있고, 멸망시키실 수도 있습니다. 도대체 그대가 누구이기에 이웃을 심판합니까?Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you--who are you to judge your neighbor?

James 4:7-10

그러므로 하나님께 복종하고, 악마를 물리치십시오. 그리하면 악마는 달아날 것입니다. 하나님께로 가까이 가십시오. 그리하면 하나님께서 가까이 오실 것입니다. 죄인들이여, 손을 깨끗이 하십시오. 두 마음을 품은 사람들이여, 마음을 순결하게 하십시오. 여러분은 괴로워하십시오. 슬퍼하십시오. 우십시오. 여러분의 웃음을 슬픔으로 바꾸십시오. 기쁨을 근심으로 바꾸십시오. 주님 앞에서 자신을 낮추십시오. 그리하면 주님께서 여러분을 높여주실 것입니다.Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

James 4:4-6

간음하는 사람들이여, 세상과 벗함이 하나님과 등지는 일임을 알지 못합니까? 누구든지 세상의 친구가 되려고 하는 사람은 하나님의 원수가 되는 것입니다.
"하나님께서는 우리 안에 살게 하신 그 영을 질투하실 정도로 그리워하신다"라는 성경 말씀을 여러분은 헛된 것으로 생각합니까?그러나 하나님께서는 더 큰 은혜를 주십니다. 그러므로 성경에 이르기를 "하나님께서는 교만한 자들을 물리치시고, 겸손한 사람들에게 은혜를 주신다" 하고 말합니다.You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely?But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
