James 4:1-3

You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

James 3:17-18

James 3:13-16

Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil.For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

James 3:7-12

It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

James 3:1--6

We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.
When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal.
Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.
Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

James 2:20-26

This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. David said about him: " 'I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in hope,

James 2:14-19

나의 형제자매 여러분, 누가 믿음이 있다고 말하면서도 행함이 없으면, 무슨 소용이 있겠습니까? 그런 믿음이 그를 구원할 수 있겠습니까? 어떤 형제나 자매가 헐벗고, 그 날 먹을 것조차 없는데,여러분 가운데서 누가 그들에게 말하기를 "평안히 가서, 몸을 따뜻하게 하고, 배부르게 먹으십시오" 하면서, 말만 하고 몸에 필요한 것들을 주지 않는다고 하면, 무슨 소용이 있겠습니까? 이와 같이 믿음에 행함이 따르지 않으면, 그 자체만으로는 죽은 것입니다. 어떤 사람은 이렇게 말할 것입니다. 그대는 하나님께서 한 분이심을 믿고 있습니다. 잘하는 일입니다. 그런데 귀신들도 그렇게 믿고 떱니다.What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder.

James 2:10-13

누구든지 율법 전체를 지키다가도 한 조목에서 실수하면, 전체를 범한 셈이 되기 때문입니다."간음하지 말라" 하신 분이 또한 "살인하지 말라"고 말씀하셨습니다. 어떤 사람이 간음은 하지 않는다고 하더라도 살인을 하면, 결국 그 사람은 율법을 범하는 것입니다. 여러분은, 자유를 주는 율법을 따라 앞으로 심판을 받을 각오로, 말도 그렇게 하고 행동도 그렇게 하십시오. 심판은 자비를 베풀지 않는 사람에게는 무자비합니다. 그러나 자비는 심판을 이깁니다.For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.For he who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder." If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker. Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!

James 2:5-9

사랑하는 형제자매 여러분, 들으십시오. 하나님께서는 세상의 가난한 사람을 택하셔서 믿음에 부요한 사람이 되게 하시고, 하나님을 사랑하는 이들에게 약속하신 그 나라의 상속자가 되게 하시지 않았습니까?그런데 여러분은 가난한 사람을 업신여겼습니다. 여러분을 압제하는 사람은 부자들이 아닙니까? 또 여러분을 법정으로 끌고 가는 사람도 부자들이 아닙니까? 여러분이 받드는 그 존귀한 이름을 모독하는 사람도 부자들이 아닙니까?
여러분이 성경을 따라 "네 이웃을 네 몸같이 사랑하라"는 으뜸가는 법을 지키면, 잘하는 일입니다.
그러나 여러분이 사람을 차별해서 대하면 죄를 짓는 것이요, 여러분은 율법을 따라 범법자로 판정을 받게 됩니다.Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?But you have insulted the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? Are they not the ones who are slandering the noble name of him to whom you belong? If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right.
But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.

James 2:1-4

Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet," have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

James 1:26-27

누가 스스로 경건하다고 생각하면서도, 혀를 다스리지 않고 자기 마음을 속이면, 이 사람의 신앙은 헛된 것입니다. 하나님 아버지께서 보시기에 깨끗하고 흠이 없는 경건은, 고난을 겪고 있는 고아들과 과부들을 돌보아주며, 자기를 지켜서 세속에 물들지 않게 하는 것입니다.If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. James 1:22-25

말씀을 행하는 사람이 되십시오. 그저 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이는 사람이 되지 마십시오.

그러나 완전한 율법 곧 자유를 주는 율법을 잘 살피고 끊임없이 그대로 사는 사람은, 율법을 듣고서 잊어버리는 사람이 아니라, 그것을 실행하는 사람인 것입니다. 이런 사람은 그가 행한 일에 복을 받을 것입니다.Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it--he will be blessed in what he does.

James 1:19-21

for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

James 1:12-18

When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.
Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.Don't be deceived, my dear brothers.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,
for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

James 1:9-11

James 1:1-8

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

Malachi 4:1-6

Then you will trample down the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I do these things," says the LORD Almighty. "Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.
"See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes.He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse."

Malachi 3:13-18

"Yet you ask, 'What have we said against you?' "You have said, 'It is futile to serve God. What did we gain by carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the LORD Almighty? But now we call the arrogant blessed. Certainly the evildoers prosper, and even those who challenge God escape.' "Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name. "They will be mine," says the LORD Almighty, "in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.

Acts 20:22-24

I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.

Malachi 3:6-12

"나 주는 변하지 않는다. 그러므로 너 야곱의 자손아, 너희는 멸망하지 않는다. 너희 조상 때로부터, 너희는 내 규례를 떠나서 지키지 않았다. 이제 너희는 나에게로 돌아오너라. 나도 너희에게로 돌아가겠다. 나 만군의 주가 말한다. 그러나 너희는 '돌아가려면, 우리가 무엇을 하여야 합니까?' 하고 묻는구나.
사람이 하나님의 것을 훔치면 되겠느냐? 그런데도 너희는 나의 것을 훔치고서도 '우리가 주님의 무엇을 훔쳤습니까?' 하고 되묻는구나. 십일조와 헌물이 바로 그것이 아니냐! 너희 온 백성이 나의 것을 훔치니, 너희 모두가 저주를 받는다. 너희는 온전한 십일조를 창고에 들여 놓아, 내 집에 먹을거리가 넉넉하게 하여라. 이렇게 바치는 일로 나를 시험하여, 내가 하늘 문을 열고서, 너희가 쌓을 곳이 없도록 복을 붓지 않나 보아라. 나 만군의 주의 말이다.나는 너희 땅의 소산물을 해로운 벌레가 먹어 없애지 못하게 하며, 너희 포도밭의 열매가 채 익기 전에 떨어지지 않게 하겠다. 나 만군의 주가 말한다. 너희 땅이 이처럼 비옥하여지므로, 모든 민족이 너희를 복되다고 할 것이다. 나 만군의 주가 말한다.""I the LORD do not change. "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' "In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse--the whole nation of you--because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the LORD Almighty. "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the LORD Almighty.
