James 4:13-17

"주님께서 원하시면, 우리가 살 것이고, 또 이런 일이나 저런 일을 할 것이다." 16.그런데 여러분은 지금 우쭐대면서 자랑하고 있습니다. 그와 같은 자랑은 다 악한 것입니다. 17.그러므로 사람이 해야 할 선한 일이 무엇인지 알면서도 하지 않으면, 그것은 그에게 죄가 됩니다. 13.Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14.Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15.Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16.As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17.Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.

James 4:7-12

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8.Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9.Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10.Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. 11.Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12.There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you--who are you to judge your neighbor?

James 4:1-6

Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? 2.You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. 3.When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. 4.You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. 5.Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely? But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

James 3:13-18

Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14.But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15.Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. 16.For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. 17.But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18.Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.

James 3:7-12

It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9.With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. 10.Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. 11.Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12.My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

James 3:1-6

If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check. 3.When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4.Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5.Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

James 2:19-26

Even the demons believe that--and shudder. 20.You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? 21.Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22.You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23.And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend. 24.You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. 25.In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

James 2:14-18

Can such faith save him? 15.Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16.If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17.In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18.But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

James 2:6-13

그런데 여러분은 가난한 사람을 업신여겼습니다. 여러분을 압제하는 사람은 부자들이 아닙니까? 또 여러분을 법정으로 끌고 가는 사람도 부자들이 아닙니까? 여러분이 받드는 그 존귀한 이름을 모독하는 사람도 부자들이 아닙니까? 여러분이 성경을 따라 "네 이웃을 네 몸같이 사랑하라"는 으뜸가는 법을 지키면, 잘하는 일입니다. 그러나 여러분이 사람을 차별해서 대하면 죄를 짓는 것이요, 여러분은 율법을 따라 범법자로 판정을 받게 됩니다. 누구든지 율법 전체를 지키다가도 한 조목에서 실수하면, 전체를 범한 셈이 되기 때문입니다."간음하지 말라" 하신 분이 또한 "살인하지 말라"고 말씀하셨습니다. 어떤 사람이 간음은 하지 않는다고 하더라도 살인을 하면, 결국 그 사람은 율법을 범하는 것입니다. 여러분은, 자유를 주는 율법을 따라 앞으로 심판을 받을 각오로, 말도 그렇게 하고 행동도 그렇게 하십시오. 심판은 자비를 베풀지 않는 사람에게는 무자비합니다. 그러나 자비는 심판을 이깁니다.But you have insulted the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? Are they not the ones who are slandering the noble name of him to whom you belong? If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.For he who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder." If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker. Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!

James 2:1-5

James 1:25-27

But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it--he will be blessed in what he does. 26.If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. 27.Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

James 1:19-24

Do what it says. 23.Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24.and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

James 1:9-18

In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business. 12.Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. 13.When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14.but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15.Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. 16.Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. 17.Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18.He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

James 1:1-8

1.하나님과 주 예수 그리스도의 종인 야고보가 세계에 흩어져 사는 열두 지파에게 문안을 드립니다. 2.나의 형제자매 여러분, 여러 가지 시험에 빠질 때에, 그것을 더할 나위 없는 기쁨으로 생각하십시오. 3.여러분은 믿음의 시련이 인내를 낳는다는 것을 알고 있습니다. 4.여러분은 인내력을 충분히 발휘하여, 조금도 부족함이 없이 완전하고 성숙한 사람이 되십시오. 5.여러분 가운데 누구든지 지혜가 부족하거든, 모든 사람에게 아낌없이 주시고 나무라지 않으시는 하나님께 구하십시오. 그리하면 받을 것입니다. 6.조금도 의심하지 말고, 믿고 구해야 합니다. 의심하는 사람은 마치 바람에 밀려서 출렁이는 바다 물결과 같습니다. 7.그런 사람은 주님께로부터 아무것도 받을 생각을 하지 마십시오. 8.그는 두 마음을 품은 사람이요, 그의 모든 행동에는 안정이 없습니다. 1.James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings. 2.Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3.because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4.Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5.If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6.But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7.That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8.he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

Mark 16:15-20

또 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. Mark 16:8-14

They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping.When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it. Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either. Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

Mark 16:1-7

But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed."Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.' "

Mark 15:42-47

So as evening approached, 43.Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body. 44.Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died. 45.When he learned from the centurion that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph. 46.So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. 47.Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.

Mark 15:33-41

When some of those standing near heard this, they said, "Listen, he's calling Elijah."One man ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to take him down," he said. With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, "Surely this man was the Son of God!" Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome.In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there.

Mark 15:21-32

Dividing up his clothes, they cast lots to see what each would get. 25.It was the third hour when they crucified him. 26.The written notice of the charge against him read: THE KING OF THE JEWS. 27.They crucified two robbers with him, one on his right and one on his left. 28. 29.Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, "So! You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, 30.come down from the cross and save yourself!" 31.In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law mocked him among themselves. "He saved others," they said, "but he can't save himself! 32.Let this Christ, this King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe." Those crucified with him also heaped insults on him.

Mark 15:16-20

Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him.
