Luke 9:51-56 (Samaritan Opposition)

And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him; but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem. When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, "Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?" But Jesus turned and rebuked them,and they went to another village.

Luke 9:44-50 (Jesus Predicts His Death a Second Time)

"너희는 이 말을 귀담아 들어라. 인자는 사람들의 손으로 넘어갈 것이다." 그러나 제자들은 이 말씀을 깨닫지 못하였다. 그들이 그 말씀을 이해하지 못하도록 그 뜻이 숨겨져 있었다. 또한 그들은 그 말씀에 관하여 그에게 묻기조차 두려워하였다."Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you: The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men." But they did not understand what this meant. It was hidden from them, so that they did not grasp it, and they were afraid to ask him about it.An argument started among the disciples as to which of them would be the greatest. Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him. Then he said to them, "Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For he who is least among you all--he is the greatest." "Master," said John, "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us." "Do not stop him," Jesus said, "for whoever is not against you is for you."

Luke 9:37-43 (Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy)

다음날 그들이 산에서 내려오니, 큰 무리가 예수를 맞이하였다. 그런데 무리 가운데서 한 사람이 소리를 크게 내서 말하였다. "선생님, 내 아들을 보아주십시오. 그 아이는 내 외아들입니다. 귀신이 그 아이를 사로잡으면, 그 아이는 갑자기 소리를 지릅니다. 또 귀신은 아이에게 경련을 일으키고, 입에 거품을 물게 합니다. 그리고 아이를 상하게 하면서 좀처럼 떠나지 않습니다. 그래서 선생님의 제자들에게 귀신을 내쫓아 달라고 청하였으나, 그들은 해내지를 못했습니다."예수께서 대답하셨다. A spirit seizes him and he suddenly screams; it throws him into convulsions so that he foams at the mouth. It scarcely ever leaves him and is destroying him. I begged your disciples to drive it out, but they could not.""O unbelieving and perverse generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you and put up with you? Bring your son here." Even while the boy was coming, the demon threw him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the evil spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father. And they were all amazed at the greatness of God. While everyone was marveling at all that Jesus did, he said to his disciples,

luke 9:28-36 (The Transfiguration)

As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. Two men, Moses and Elijah,appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters--one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." (He did not know what he was saying.) While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. A voice came from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him."When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves, and told no one at that time what they had seen.

Luke 9:21-27 (Jesus Predicts His Death)

그런데 예수께서는 그들에게 엄중히 경고하셔서, 이것을 아무에게도 말하지 말라고 명하시고, 말씀하셨다. "인자가 반드시 많은 고난을 받고, 장로들과 대제사장들과 율법학자들에게 배척을 받아 죽임을 당하고서, 사흗날에 살아나야 한다." 그리고 예수께서 모든 사람에게 말씀하셨다. And he said, "The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life." Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God."

Luke 9:18-20

예수께서 혼자 기도하고 계실 때에, 제자들이 그와 함께 있었다. 예수께서 제자들에게 물으셨다. "사람들이 나를 누구라고 하느냐?" 그들이 대답하였다. "세례자 요한이라고 합니다. 그러나 엘리야라고 하는 사람들도 있고, 옛 예언자 가운데 한 사람이 살아났다고 하는 사람들도 있습니다." 예수께서 그들에게 물으셨다. They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life." "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "The Christ of God."

Luke 9:10-17

사도들이 돌아와서, 자기들이 한 모든 일을 예수께 이야기하였다. 예수께서는 그들을 데리고, 따로 벳새다라고 하는 고을로 물러가셨다.그러나 무리가 그것을 알고서, 그를 따라갔다. 예수께서는 그들을 맞이하셔서, 하나님 나라를 말씀해 주시고, 또 병 고침을 받아야 할 사람들을 고쳐 주셨다. 그런데 날이 저물기 시작하니, 열두 제자가 다가와서, 예수께 말씀드렸다. Then he took them with him and they withdrew by themselves to a town called Bethsaida,but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing. Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said, "Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here." He replied, "You give them something to eat." They answered, "We have only five loaves of bread and two fish--unless we go and buy food for all this crowd." (About five thousand men were there.) But he said to his disciples, "Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each." The disciples did so, and everybody sat down.Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to set before the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

Luke 9:1-9

예수께서 그 열둘을 한 자리에 불러놓으시고, 모든 귀신을 제어하고 병을 고치는 능력과 권능을 주시고, 하나님 나라를 선포하며 병든 사람을 고쳐 주게 하시려고 그들을 내보내시며 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "길을 떠나는 데는, 아무것도 가지고 가지 말아라. 지팡이도 자루도 빵도 은화도 가지고 가지 말고, 속옷도 두 벌씩은 가지고 가지 말아라. 어느 집에 들어가든지, 거기에 머물다가, 거기에서 떠나거라. 어디에서든지 사람들이 너희를 영접하지 않거든, 그 고을을 떠날 때에 너희 발에 묻은 먼지를 떨어버려서, 그들을 거스르는 증거물로 삼아라."제자들은 나가서, 여러 마을을 두루 다니면서, 곳곳에서 복음을 전하며, 병을 고쳤다. 분봉왕 헤롯은 이 모든 일을 듣고서 당황하였다. 왜냐하면, 어떤 사람들은 요한이 죽은 사람들 가운데서 살아났다고 하고, 또 어떤 사람들은 엘리야가 나타났다고 하고, 또 어떤 사람들은 옛 예언자 가운데 한 사람이 살아났다고 말하기 때문이었다. 그러나 헤롯은 이렇게 말하였다. He told them: "Take nothing for the journey--no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra tunic. Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town. If people do not welcome you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave their town, as a testimony against them."So they set out and went from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere. Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was going on. And he was perplexed, because some were saying that John had been raised from the dead, others that Elijah had appeared, and still others that one of the prophets of long ago had come back to life. But Herod said, "I beheaded John. Who, then, is this I hear such things about?" And he tried to see him.

Luke 8:49-56

예수께서 아직 말씀을 계속하시는데, 회당장의 집에서 사람이 와서 말하였다. "따님이 죽었습니다. 선생님을 더 괴롭히지 마십시오." 예수께서 들으시고 나서, 회당장에게 말씀하셨다. "Your daughter is dead," he said. "Don't bother the teacher any more." Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed."When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child's father and mother. Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. "Stop wailing," Jesus said. "She is not dead but asleep." They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. But he took her by the hand and said, "My child, get up!" Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.

Luke 8:40-48

"딸아, 네 믿음이 너를 구원하였다. 평안히 가거라."Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him.Then a man named Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, came and fell at Jesus' feet, pleading with him to come to his house because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. "Who touched me?" Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you."But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me." Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."

Luke 8:26-39

그들이 갈릴리 맞은편 거라사인의 땅에 이르러 예수께서 육지에 내리시매 그 도시 사람으로서 귀신 들린 자 하나가 예수를 만나니 그 사람은 오래 옷을 입지 아니하며 집에 거하지도 아니하고 무덤 사이에 거하는 자라 예수를 보고 부르짖으며 그 앞에 엎드려 큰 소리로 불러 이르되 지극히 높으신 하나님의 아들 예수여 당신이 나와 무슨 상관이 있나이까 당신께 구하노니 나를 괴롭게 하지 마옵소서 하니 이는 예수께서 이미 더러운 귀신을 명하사 그 사람에게서 나오라 하셨음이라 （귀신이 가끔 그 사람을 붙잡으므로 그를 쇠사슬과 고랑에 매어 지켰으되 그 맨 것을 끊고 귀신에게 몰려 광야로 나갔더라） 예수께서 네 이름이 무엇이냐 물으신즉 이르되 군대라 하니 이는 많은 귀신이 들렸음이라무저갱으로 들어가라 하지 마시기를 간구하더니 마침 그 곳에 많은 돼지 떼가 산에서 먹고 있는지라 귀신들이 그 돼지에게로 들어가게 허락하심을 간구하니 이에 허락하시니 귀신들이 그 사람에게서 나와 돼지에게로 들어가니 그 떼가 비탈로 내리달아 호수에 들어가 몰사하거늘 치던 자들이 그 이루어진 일을 보고 도망하여 성내와 마을에 알리니 사람들이 그 이루어진 일을 보러 나와서 예수께 이르러 귀신 나간 사람이 옷을 입고 정신이 온전하여 예수의 발치에 앉아 있는 것을 보고 두려워하거늘귀신 들렸던 자가 어떻게 구원 받았는지를 본 자들이 그들에게 이르매 거라사인의 땅 근방 모든 백성이 크게 두려워하여 예수께 떠나가시기를 구하더라 예수께서 배에 올라 돌아가실새 귀신 나간 사람이 함께 있기를 구하였으나 예수께서 그를 보내시며 이르시되 집으로 돌아가 하나님이 네게 어떻게 큰 일을 행하셨는지를 말하라 하시니 그가 가서 예수께서 자기에게 어떻게 큰 일을 행하셨는지를 온 성내에 전파하니라They sailed to the region of the Gerasenes, which is across the lake from Galilee. When Jesus stepped ashore, he was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house, but had lived in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don't torture me!" For Jesus had commanded the evil spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places. Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" "Legion," he replied, because many demons had gone into him.And they begged him repeatedly not to order them to go into the Abyss. A large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside. The demons begged Jesus to let them go into them, and he gave them permission. When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned. When those tending the pigs saw what had happened, they ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus' feet, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.Those who had seen it told the people how the demon-possessed man had been cured. Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them, because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and left. The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, "Return home and tell how much God has done for you." So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.

Luke 8:22-25

어느 날 예수께서 제자들과 함께 배에 오르셔서, 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "호수 저쪽으로 건너가자." 그들이 출발하여 배를 저어 가고 있을 때에 예수께서는 잠이 드셨다. 그런데 사나운 바람이 호수로 내리 불어서, 배에 물이 차고, 그들은 위태롭게 되었다. 그래서 제자들이 다가가서 예수를 깨우고서 말하였다. "이분이 도대체 누구시기에 바람과 물을 호령하시니, 바람과 물조차도 그에게 복종하는가?"One day Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's go over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. "Where is your faith?" he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, "Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him."

Luke 8:19-21

예수의 어머니와 형제들이 예수께로 왔으나, 무리 때문에 만날 수 없었다. 그래서 사람들이 예수께 전하였다. "선생님의 어머니와 형제들이 밖에 서서, 선생님을 만나고 싶어합니다."예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "하나님의 말씀을 듣고 행하는 이 사람들이 나의 어머니요, 나의 형제들이다."Now Jesus' mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. Someone told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you."He replied, "My mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put it into practice."

Luke 8:16-18

"아무도 등불을 켜서, 그릇으로 덮거나, 침대 아래에다 놓지 않고, 등경 위에다가 올려놓아서, 들어오는 사람들이 그 빛을 보게 한다. 숨겨 둔 것은 드러나고, 감추어 둔 것은 알려져서 환히 나타나기 마련이다. 그러므로 너희는 조심하여 들어라. 가진 사람은 더 받을 것이요, 가지지 못한 사람은 가진 줄로 생각하는 것마저 빼앗길 것이다.""No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him."

Luke 8:9-15

예수의 제자들이, 이 비유가 무슨 뜻인지를 그에게 물었다. 예수께서 대답하셨다. "너희에게는 하나님 나라의 비밀을 아는 것을 허락해 주셨다. 그러나 다른 사람들에게는 비유로 말하였으니, 그것은 '그들이 보아도 보지 못하고, 들어도 깨닫지 못하게 하려는 것'이다.""그 비유의 뜻은 이러하다. 씨는 하나님의 말씀이다. 길가에 떨어진 것들은, 말씀을 듣기는 하였으나, 그 뒤에 악마가 와서, 그들의 마음에서 말씀을 빼앗아 가므로, 믿지 못하고 구원을 받지 못하게 되는 사람들이다. 돌짝밭에 떨어진 것들은, 들을 때에는 그 말씀을 기쁘게 받아들이지만, 뿌리가 없으므로 잠시 동안 믿다가, 시련의 때가 오면 떨어져 나가는 사람들이다. 가시덤불에 떨어진 것들은, 말씀을 들었으나, 살아가는 동안에 근심과 재물과 인생의 향락에 사로잡혀서, 열매를 맺는 데에 이르지 못하는 사람들이다. 그리고 좋은 땅에 떨어진 것들은, 바르고 착한 마음으로 말씀을 듣고서, 그것을 굳게 간직하여 견디는 가운데 열매를 맺는 사람들이다."His disciples asked him what this parable meant. He said, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, " 'though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.'"This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

Luke 8:1-8

그 뒤에 예수께서 고을과 마을을 두루 다니시면서, 하나님의 나라를 선포하며 그 기쁜 소식을 전하셨다. 열두 제자가 예수와 동행하였다. 그리고 악령과 질병에서 고침을 받은 몇몇 여자들도 동행하였는데, 일곱 귀신이 떨어져 나간 막달라라고 하는 마리아와 헤롯의 청지기인 구사의 아내 요안나와 수산나와 그 밖에 여러 다른 여자들이었다. 그들은 자기들의 재산으로 예수의 일행을 섬겼다. 무리가 많이 모여들고, 각 고을에서 사람들이 예수께로 나아오니, 예수께서 비유를 들어 말씀하셨다. "씨 뿌리는 사람이 씨를 뿌리러 나갔다. 그가 씨를 뿌리는데, 더러는 길가에 떨어지니, 발에 밟히기도 하고, 하늘의 새들이 쪼아먹기도 하였다.또 더러는 돌짝밭에 떨어지니, 싹이 돋아났다가 물기가 없어서 말라 버렸다. 또 더러는 가시덤불 속에 떨어지니, 가시덤불이 함께 자라서, 그 기운을 막았다. 그런데 더러는 좋은 땅에 떨어져서 자라나, 백 배의 열매를 맺었다." 이 말씀을 하시고, 예수께서는 "들을 귀가 있는 사람은 들어라" 하고 외치셨다.After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; Joanna the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod's household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means. While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up.Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown." When he said this, he called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

Luke 7:44-50

그런 다음에, 그 여자에게로 돌아서서, 시몬에게 말씀하셨다. "네 믿음이 너를 구원하였다. 평안히 가거라."Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet.You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven--for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little." Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven." The other guests began to say among themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?" Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."
