Hosea 11:1-12 (성경통독):Here is a description how Israel played at religion with toy gods. God reared Israel as a child but it never truly acknowledged or followed Him wholeheartedly. Rather, they keep praying to other cheap gods for help and are thus “people who are hell-bent on leaving Him.” But God does not easily give up on them and will make sure that these people will end up following Him. But despite this hopeful situation, Israelites are still sinning: Ephraim tells lies right and left. Not a word of Israel can be trusted. Judah, meanwhile, is no better, addicted to cheap gods.
