Jonah 1:7-10
뱃사람들이 서로 말하였다. "우리가 어서 제비를 뽑아서, 누구 때문에 이런 재앙이 우리에게 내리는지 알아봅시다." 그들이 제비를 뽑으니, 그 제비가 요나에게 떨어졌다. 그들이 요나에게 물었다. "우리에게 말하시오. 누구 때문에 이런 재앙이 우리에게 내렸소? 당신은 무엇을 하는 사람이며, 어디서 오는 길이오? 어느 나라 사람이오? 어떤 백성이오?" 그가 그들에게 대답하였다. "나는 히브리 사람이오. 하늘에 계신 주 하나님, 바다와 육지를 지으신 그분을 섬기는 사람이오." 요나가 그들에게, 자기가 주님의 낯을 피하여 달아나고 있다고 말하니, 사람들이 그 사실을 알고, 겁에 질려서 그에게 소리쳤다. "어쩌자고 당신은 이런 일을 하였소?"Then the sailors said to each other, "Come, let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this calamity." They cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah. So they asked him, "Tell us, who is responsible for making all this trouble for us? What do you do? Where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?" He answered, "I am a Hebrew and I worship the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the land." This terrified them and they asked, "What have you done?" (They knew he was running away from the LORD, because he had already told them so.)

Four interesting facts:
1.) It's sort of odd to investigate someone in such a way, as a result of casting lots. That means someone other than Jonah could also have been put into question if the lots had fallen on him.
2.) 하늘에 계신 주 하나님, 바다와 육지를 지으신 그분.... 우리는 우리의 삶가운데 하나님을 어떻게 define 하고 있는가 생각 해 볼 필요 있습니다. 우리도 침묵 기도를 하는 가운데 주 하나님을 전능하심는 하나님이심을 믿고 고백했으면 좋겠습니다.
3.)그분을 섬기는 사람이오 ( I worship the LORD)... 요나는 하나님을 믿고 경배하는 자였지만 주님의 낯을 피혀여 달아났습니다. we can see our fragility here... no matter how close we can feel to be to God, we are easily shaken once hardships strike us.
4.) In interesting to see how the sailors around Jonah become terrified as they find out that he believes in the Lord. These sailors were unbelievers but had hopes in several different gods. But they collapse and submit before the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the land.
