Zechariah 12:6-10

그 날에 내가, 유다의 지도자들을, 나뭇단 사이에 놓인 과열된 도가니처럼, 곡식단 사이에서 타는 횃불처럼 만들겠다. 그들이 주변의 모든 민족을 좌우로 닥치는 대로 불사를 것이다. 그러나 예루살렘은 다치지 않고 제자리에 그대로 남아 있을 것이다.
나 주가 유다의 거처를 먼저 구원해 주겠다. 다윗 집안의 영광과 예루살렘에 사는 주민의 영광이 아무리 크다 하여도, 유다의 영광보다 더 크지는 않을 것이다.
그 날에 나 주가 예루살렘에 사는 주민을 보호할 것이니, 그들 가운데 가장 연약한 사람도 그 날에는 다윗처럼 강하게 될 것이다. 다윗 집안은 하나님처럼, 곧 백성을 인도하는 주의 천사처럼, 그렇게 백성을 인도할 것이다.
그 날이 오면, 내가, 예루살렘을 치러 오는 모든 이방 나라를 멸망시키고 말겠다.
그러나 내가, 다윗 집안과 예루살렘에 사는 사람들에게 '은혜를 구하는 영'과 '용서를 비는 영'을 부어 주겠다. 그러면 그들은, 나 곧 그들이 찔러 죽인 그를 바라보고서, 외아들을 잃고 슬피 울듯이 슬피 울며, 맏아들을 잃고 슬퍼하듯이 슬퍼할 것이다."On that day I will make the leaders of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume right and left all the surrounding peoples, but Jerusalem will remain intact in her place.
"The LORD will save the dwellings of Judah first, so that the honor of the house of David and of Jerusalem's inhabitants may not be greater than that of Judah.
On that day the LORD will shield those who live in Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the Angel of the LORD going before them.
On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem.
"And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.
