Malachi 2:10-17

우리는 모두 한 아버지를 모시고 있지 않느냐? 한 하나님이 우리를 창조하시지 않았느냐? 그런데 어찌하여, 우리가 서로 배신하느냐? 어찌하여 우리는, 주님께서 우리 조상과 맺으신 그 언약을 욕되게 하고 있느냐?유다 백성은 주님을 배신하였다. 예루살렘과 이스라엘 온 땅에서, 추악한 일이 일어나고 있다. 유다 백성은 주님께서 아끼시는 성소를 더럽히고, 남자들은 이방 우상을 섬기는 여자와 결혼까지 하였다.
이런 일을 하는 사람은, 그가 어떤 사람이든지, 만군의 주님께 제사를 드리는 사람이라고 하여도, 주님께서 그를 야곱의 가문에서 쫓아내실 것이다. 너희가 잘못한 일이 또 하나 있다. 주님께서 너희 제물을 외면하시며 그것을 기꺼이 받지 않으신다고, 너희가 눈물과 울음과 탄식으로 주님의 제단을 적셨다.
그러면서 너희는 오히려, '무슨 까닭으로 이러십니까?' 하고 묻는다. 그 까닭은, 네가 젊은 날에 만나서 결혼한 너의 아내를 배신하였기 때문이며, 주님께서 이 일에 증인이시기 때문이다. 그 여자는 너의 동반자이며, 네가 성실하게 살겠다고 언약을 맺고 맞아들인 아내인데도, 네가 아내를 배신하였다.
한 분이신 하나님이 네 아내를 만들지 않으셨느냐? 육체와 영이 둘 다 하나님의 것이다. 한 분이신 하나님이 경건한 자손을 원하시는 것이 아니겠느냐? 너희는 명심하여, 젊어서 결혼한 너희 아내를 배신하지 말아라."나는 이혼하는 것을 미워한다. 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 아내를 학대하는 것도 나는 미워한다. 나 만군의 주가 말한다. 그러므로 너희는 명심하여, 아내를 배신하지 말아라."
"너희는 말로 나 주를 괴롭혔다. 그런데도 너희는 '우리가 어떻게 주님을 괴롭게 해 드렸습니까?' 하고 묻는다. 너희는 '주님께서는 악한 일을 하는 사람도 모두 좋게 보신다. 주님께서 오히려 그런 사람들을 더 사랑하신다' 하고 말하고, 또 '공의롭게 재판하시는 하나님이 어디에 계시는가?' 하고 말한다."; Have we not all one Father ? Did not one God create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our fathers by breaking faith with one another?Judah has broken faith. A detestable thing has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem: Judah has desecrated the sanctuary the LORD loves, by marrying the daughter of a foreign god. As for the man who does this, whoever he may be, may the LORD cut him off from the tents of Jacob --even though he brings offerings to the LORD Almighty. Another thing you do: You flood the LORD's altar with tears. You weep and wail because he no longer pays attention to your offerings or accepts them with pleasure from your hands. You ask, "Why?" It is because the LORD is acting as the witness between you and the wife of your youth, because you have broken faith with her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant. Has not the LORD made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth."I hate divorce," says the LORD God of Israel, "and I hate a man's covering himself with violence as well as with his garment," says the LORD Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith. You have wearied the LORD with your words. "How have we wearied him?" you ask. By saying, "All who do evil are good in the eyes of the LORD, and he is pleased with them" or "Where is the God of justice?"
