2 Peter 3:3-7

여러분이 무엇보다 먼저 알아야 할 것은 이것입니다. 마지막 때에 조롱하는 자들이 나타나서, 자기들의 욕망대로 살면서, 여러분을 조롱하여이렇게 말할 것입니다. "그리스도가 다시 오신다는 약속은 어디 갔느냐? 조상들이 잠든 이래로, 만물은 창조 때부터 그러하였듯이 그냥 그대로다." 그들이 이렇게 말하는 것은, 하나님의 말씀으로 하늘이 오랜 옛날부터 있었고, 땅이 물에서 나와 물로 말미암아 형성되었다는 것과,또 물로 그 때 세계가 홍수에 잠겨 망하여 버렸다는 사실을, 그들이 일부러 무시하기 때문입니다. 그러나 지금 있는 하늘과 땅도 불사르기 위하여 그 동일한 말씀으로 보존되고 있으며, 경건하지 못한 자들이 심판을 받아 멸망을 당할 날까지 유지됩니다.First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water.By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
