1 John 3:1-6

아버지께서 우리에게 얼마나 큰 사랑을 베푸셨는지를 생각해 보십시오. 하나님께서 우리를 자기의 자녀라 일컬어 주셨으니 우리는 하나님의 자녀입니다. 세상이 우리를 알지 못하는 까닭은 하나님을 알지 못하기 때문입니다. 사랑하는 여러분, 이제 우리는 하나님의 자녀입니다. 앞으로 우리가 어떻게 될지는 아직 밝혀지지 않았습니다만, 그리스도께서 나타나시면, 우리도 그와 같이 될 것임을 압니다. 그 때에 우리가 그를 참모습대로 뵙게 될 것이기 때문입니다. 그에게 이런 소망을 두는 사람은 누구나, 그가 깨끗하신 것과 같이 자기를 깨끗하게 합니다. 죄를 짓는 사람마다 불법을 행하는 사람입니다. 죄는 곧 불법입니다. 여러분이 아는 대로, 그리스도께서는 죄를 없애려고 나타나셨습니다. 그리스도는 죄가 없는 분이십니다. 그러므로 그리스도 안에 머물러 있는 사람마다 죄를 짓지 않습니다. 죄를 짓는 사람마다 그를 보지도 못한 사람이고, 알지도 못한 사람입니다.How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears,we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
