Revelation 10:8-11

Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: "Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land." So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, "Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey." I took the little scroll from the angel's hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour. Then I was told, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings."

The scroll seems to contain prophecies of coming judgment. According to John's own experiences after eating the scroll, it will be sweet to the taste but bitter and sour in its outworking.
The interpretation could be as follows - the good news is, God’s judgment is coming and this is certainly good news for those who eagerly and faithfully wait for His return! The bad news is, God’s judgment is coming for those who refuse to know Him and just follow the patterns of this world.
We should also keep in mind that although God’s Word is always good, its message will not always make us happy. Sometimes we will hear the convicting word of God, while some other times we will be warned to change our ways. I pray that we won't have mixed feelings or emotions toward the word of God but rather that we have an emphatic and passionate heart for the word.
