1 Samuel 9 (성경통독): we witness the first encounter between Saul and Samuel. Saul is a young shy modest man as he thinks of himself to be “only a Benjaminite, from the smallest of Israel’s tribes, and from the most insignificant clan in the tribe at that.” Nevertheless, it was a memorable day as Samuel (the seer) and the 30 guests had prepared a special meal for Saul. Initially, Saul came all the way here because of the lost donkeys. But it all turned out to be for his own good as Samuel through God knew that Saul would be anointed as prince over the people Israel. He will free His people from Philistine oppression.
