2 Samuel 3 (성경통독): It's a tragedy that Joab stabbed Abner in the belly, killing him in cold blood for the murder of his brother Asahel. Although Joab really was innocent and eagerly tried to bring the kingdom of Israel under the leadership/rule of David, the King of Judah, Joab took advantage of the situation and killed Abner. But king David took the right action from hereon as he said: "Before God I and my kingdom are totally innocent of this murder of Abner son of Ner. Joab and his entire family will always be under the curse of this bloodguilt." He fasted and mourned for Abner, which was applauded by the people. It showed to everyone that day, including all Israel, that the king had nothing to do with the death of Abner son of Ner.
