2 Samuel 18 (성경통독): So the battle is on between the armies of Israel led by Absalom vs. the armies of King David. The result: David's armies won the battle and brought relief to David on one hand. However, we can see David mourn over the loss of his son Absalom. Indeed, from the moment the battle started until the end, David was more concerned about Absalom as he had ordered Joab and Abishai and Ittai to “Deal gently for my sake with the young man Absalom.” Even after the good news of victory was brought to David later, "was stunned. Heartbroken, he went up to the room over the gate and wept. As he wept he cried out, O my son Absalom, my dear, dear son Absalom! Why not me rather than you, my death and not yours,
O Absalom, my dear, dear son!
