Zechariah 1:7-17

다리우스 왕 이년 열한째 달에, 곧 스밧월 스무나흗날에, 주님께서 잇도의 손자이며 베레갸의 아들 스가랴 예언자에게 말씀하셨다. 지난밤에 내가 환상을 보니, 붉은 말을 탄 사람 하나가 골짜기에 있는 화석류나무 사이에 서 있고, 그 사람 뒤에는 붉은 말들과 밤색 말들과 흰 말들이 서 있었다. 그래서 내가 물었다. "천사님, 이 말들은 무엇입니까?" 내게 말하는 천사가 대답하였다. "이 말들이 무엇을 하는지, 내가 너에게 보여 주겠다." 그 때에, 화석류나무 사이에 서 있는 그 사람이 말하였다. "이 말들은 주님께서, 온 땅을 두루 다니면서 땅을 살펴보라고 보내신 말들이다."그리고 말에 탄 사람들이 화석류나무 사이에 서 있는 주님의 천사에게 직접 보고하였다. "우리가 이 땅을 두루 다니면서 살펴보니, 온 땅이 조용하고 평안하였습니다."
주님의 천사가 주님께 아뢰었다. "만군의 주님, 언제까지 예루살렘과 유다의 성읍들을 불쌍히 여기지 않으시렵니까? 주님께서 그들에게 진노하신 지 벌써 칠십 년이나 되었습니다." 주님께서는 내게 말하는 천사를 좋은 말로 위로하셨다. 내게 말하는 천사가 내게 일러주었다. "너는 외쳐라. 만군의 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. '나는 예루살렘과 시온을 몹시 사랑한다. 그러나 안일한 생활을 즐기는 이방 나라들에게는, 크게 화가 난다. 나도 내 백성에게는 함부로 화를 내지 않는데, 이방 나라들은 내 백성을 내가 벌주는 것보다 더 심하게 괴롭힌다.그러므로 나 주가 이렇게 선언한다. 나는 예루살렘을 불쌍히 여기는 심정으로 이 도성에 돌아왔다. 그 가운데 내 집을 다시 세우겠다. 예루살렘 위에 측량줄을 다시 긋겠다. 나 만군의 주의 말이다.'
너는 또 외쳐라. '나 만군의 주가 말한다. 내 성읍마다 좋은 것들로 다시 풍성하게 될 것이다. 나 주가 다시 한 번 시온을 위로하겠다. 예루살렘은 다시 내가 택한 내 도성이 될 것이다.'"On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, the month of Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Zechariah son of Berekiah, the son of Iddo.
During the night I had a vision--and there before me was a man riding a red horse! He was standing among the myrtle trees in a ravine. Behind him were red, brown and white horses. I asked, "What are these, my lord?" The angel who was talking with me answered, "I will show you what they are." Then the man standing among the myrtle trees explained, "They are the ones the LORD has sent to go throughout the earth."And they reported to the angel of the LORD, who was standing among the myrtle trees, "We have gone throughout the earth and found the whole world at rest and in peace."
Then the angel of the LORD said, "LORD Almighty, how long will you withhold mercy from Jerusalem and from the towns of Judah, which you have been angry with these seventy years?" So the LORD spoke kind and comforting words to the angel who talked with me. Then the angel who was speaking to me said, "Proclaim this word: This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I am very jealous for Jerusalem and Zion,
but I am very angry with the nations that feel secure. I was only a little angry, but they added to the calamity.'"Therefore, this is what the LORD says: 'I will return to Jerusalem with mercy, and there my house will be rebuilt. And the measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem,' declares the LORD Almighty.
"Proclaim further: This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'My towns will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem.' "
