1st Peter 1:1-5

예수 그리스도의 사도인 베드로가, 본도와 갈라디아와 갑바도기아와 아시아와 비두니아에 흩어져서 사는 나그네들인, 택하심을 입은 이들에게 이 편지를 씁니다. 하나님 아버지께서 여러분을 미리 아시고 성령으로 거룩하게 해 주셔서, 여러분은 순종하게 되고, 예수 그리스도의 피 뿌림을 받게 되었습니다. 여러분에게 은혜와 평화가 더욱 가득 차기를 빕니다. 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님 아버지께 찬양을 드립시다. 하나님께서는 그 크신 자비로 우리를 새로 태어나게 하셨습니다. 그리하여 그는, 죽은 사람들 가운데서 예수 그리스도가 부활하심으로 말미암아 우리로 하여금 산 소망을 갖게 해 주셨으며, 썩지 않고 더러워지지 않고 낡아 없어지지 않는 유산을 물려받게 하셨습니다. 이 유산은 여러분을 위하여 하늘에 간직되어 있습니다. 하나님께서는 여러분의 믿음을 보시고 그의 능력으로 여러분을 보호해 주시며, 마지막 때에 나타나기로 되어 있는 구원을 얻게 해 주십니다.Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God's elect, strangers in the world, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
