1 Peter 2:18-21

하인으로 있는 여러분, 극히 두려운 마음으로 주인에게 복종하십시오. 선량하고 너그러운 주인에게만 아니라, 까다로운 주인에게도 그리하십시오. 억울하게 고난을 당하더라도 하나님을 생각하면서 괴로움을 참으면, 그것은 아름다운 일입니다. 죄를 짓고 매를 맞으면서 참으면, 그것이 무슨 자랑이 되겠습니까? 그러나 선을 행하다가 고난을 당하면서 참으면, 그것은 하나님께서 보시기에 아름다운 일입니다.바로 이것을 위하여 여러분은 부르심을 받았습니다. 그리스도께서는 여러분을 위하여 고난을 당하심으로써 여러분이 자기의 발자취를 따르게 하시려고 여러분에게 본을 남겨 놓으셨습니다.Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God. But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
