Genesis 28:6-10
에서는, 이삭이 야곱에게 복을 빌어 주고, 그를 밧단아람으로 보내어, 거기에서 아내감을 찾게 하였다는 것을 알았다. 에서는, 이삭이 야곱에게 복을 빌어 주면서, 가나안 사람의 딸들 가운데서 아내감을 찾아서는 안 된다고 당부하였다는 것과,
야곱이 아버지와 어머니의 말에 순종하여, 밧단아람으로 떠났다는 것을 알았다.
에서는, 자기 아버지 이삭이 가나안 사람의 딸들을 싫어한다는 것을 알고,
이미 결혼하여 아내들이 있는데도, 이스마엘에게 가서, 그의 딸 마할랏을 또다시 아내로 맞이하였다. 마할랏은 느바욧의 누이이며, 아브라함의 손녀이다.Now Esau learned that Isaac had blessed Jacob and had sent him to Paddan Aram to take a wife from there, and that when he blessed him he commanded him, "Do not marry a Canaanite woman,"
and that Jacob had obeyed his father and mother and had gone to Paddan Aram.
Esau then realized how displeasing the Canaanite women were to his father Isaac;
so he went to Ishmael and married Mahalath, the sister of Nebaioth and daughter of Ishmael son of Abraham, in addition to the wives he already had.

Does it signify that Mahalath was a Canaanite woman whom he Esau married out of rage and vengeance to show disobedience toward his mother and father? Either way, Esau had reason enough to be angry and contempt at this point since he was tricked by his family. But maybe he should have tried to find an alternative way to find favor in the eyes of God instead of just trying to have blessings in his life...
