Revelation 5:1-5

나는 또, 그 보좌에 앉아 계신 분이 오른손에 두루마리 하나를 들고 계신 것을 보았습니다. 그 두루마리는 안팎으로 글이 적혀 있고 일곱 인을 찍어 봉하여 놓은 것이었습니다. 내가 보니, 힘센 천사가 큰 소리로 "이 봉인을 떼고 두루마리를 펴기에 합당한 사람이 누구인가?" 하고 외쳤습니다. 그러나 두루마리를 펴거나 그것을 볼 수 있는 이는, 하늘에도 없고 땅 위에도 없고 땅 아래에도 없었습니다. 이 두루마리를 펴거나 볼 자격이 있는 이가 하나도 보이지 않으므로, 나는 슬피 울었습니다. 그런데 장로들 가운데서 하나가 나에게 "울지 마십시오. 유다 지파에서 난 사자, 곧 다윗의 뿌리가 승리하였으니, 그가 이 일곱 봉인을 떼고, 이 두루마리를 펼 수 있습니다" 하고 말하였습니다.Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?" But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals."
