1 timothy 5:17-25

잘 다스리는 장로들은 두 배로 존경을 받아야 합니다. 특히 말씀을 전파하는 일과 가르치는 일에 수고하는 장로들은 더욱 그러하여야 합니다. 성경에 이르기를, "타작 마당에서 낟알을 밟아 떠는 소의 입에 망을 씌우지 말라" 하였고, "일꾼이 자기 삯을 받는 것은 마땅하다" 하였습니다. 장로에 대한 고발은 두 사람이나 세 사람의 증인이 없이는 받아들이지 마십시오. 죄를 짓는 사람을 모든 사람 앞에서 꾸짖어서, 나머지 사람들도 두려워하게 하십시오.하나님과 그리스도 예수와 택하심을 받은 천사들 앞에서 내가 엄숙히 명령합니다. 그대는 편견 없이 이것들을 지키고, 어떤 일이든지 공평하게 처리하십시오. 아무에게나 경솔하게 안수하지 마십시오. 남의 죄에 끼여들지 말고, 자기를 깨끗하게 지키십시오. 이제부터는 물만 마시지 말고, 위장과 잦은 병을 생각해서 포도주를 조금씩 쓰십시오. 어떤 사람들의 죄는 명백해서, 재판을 받기 전에 먼저 드러나고, 어떤 사람들의 죄는 나중에야 드러납니다. 이와 마찬가지로, 착한 행실도 드러나게 마련이고, 드러나지 않은 것도, 언제까지나 감추어져 있지는 못합니다.The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain," and "The worker deserves his wages." Do not entertain an accusation against an elder unless it is brought by two or three witnesses. Those who sin are to be rebuked publicly, so that the others may take warning.I charge you, in the sight of God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, to keep these instructions without partiality, and to do nothing out of favoritism. Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure. Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses. The sins of some men are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them. In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not cannot be hidden.
