빛 가운데 있다고 말하면서 자기 형제자매를 미워하는 사람은 아직도 어둠 속에 있습니다.
자기 형제자매를 사랑하는 사람은 빛 가운데 머물러 있으니, 그 사람 앞에는 올무가 없습니다.자기 형제자매를 미워하는 사람은 어둠 속에 있고, 어둠 속을 걷고 있으니, 자기가 어디로 가는지를 알지 못합니다. 어둠이 그의 눈을 가렸기 때문입니다.Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness.
Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble.But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him.

Being in the light (being in Christ) helps us to distinguish what is light vs. darkness. If we are in the light, it will help us recognize darkness and help us to overcome and escape it. If we don't want to get blinded by darkness, then we should try everything possible to cling to the light and pray to the Holy Spirit that He will give us guidance. Amen!
