1 John 3:11-15

This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.

We should also think about what it means to murder. On one hand, it could mean physically killing others as in the case of Cain to his brother Abel. But I think murder could also refer to verbally hurting others by insulting them with words that could inflict pain and anger. The bottom line is that murder is the result of lack of love due to absence of Christ's presence in our lives who considers us righteous although we are evil by nature. But I pray that the hope of eternal life (Kingdom of God ruling in my life) and His revelation will continuously encourage me to learn how to love. Amen!
