But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart....Even the parents were not really understanding the things and events surrounding their son Jesus. Although Jesus was still a child and in his teens, God was working through Him and with Him continuously. Anna the daughter of Phanuel and Simeon come into picture in this chapter and they foretell the ministry of Jesus and what will eventually happen to Him. So we can see how seemlessly and perfectly God sets up the stage for Jesus's ministry.
