1 Samuel 27 (성경통독): So...Together with his six hundred men and all households, David escapes to the Philistine country away from Saul and settles downs in the rural villages of Ziklag down in Gath, with the permission of Achish son of Maoch, king of Gath. There, from time to time David and his men raided the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites, who were longtime inhabitants of the land stretching toward Shur and on to Egypt. When David raided an area he left no one alive, neither man nor woman, but took everything else: sheep, cattle, donkeys, camels, clothing—the works. He did not leave a trace. He never left a single person alive lest one show up in Gath and report what David had really been doing. This is the way David operated all the time he lived in Philistine country. This in turn established trust with Achish. Achish thought that David would remain in his country since the latter had become so repugnant to this people.
