2 Samuel 20 (성경통독): So we can see continuous battles between the soldiers of Israel vs. the soldiers of Judah, as David is in the process of building a new nation with new hierarchy. Something noteworthy here the relentless revolt of Sheba against King David whose head was tossed by the people from the city to avoid a bloody massacre. We can see Amasa who did not carry out the king's order to muster the men of Judah for him in three days and to report afterward did not carry it out.... but we can also see the reinstatement of Joab as the commander of whole army of Israel. Furthermore, Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Kerethites and Pelethites; Adoniram over the work crews; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was clerk; Sheva was historian; Zadok and Abiathar were priests; Ira the Jairite was David’s chaplain.
