1 Kings 3 (성경통독): Solomon was truly a wise king. Solomon loved God and continued to live in the God-honoring ways of David his father. He asked God to give him a God-listening heart so he can lead His people well, discerning the difference between good and evil. Since God, the Master, was delighted with Solomon’s response, God gave him a wise and mature heart. Furthermore, as a bonus, God gave him also wealth, glory, and long-life which he had not asked for. His wisdom became apparent in the case of two prostitutes arguing over a healthy baby vs. a dead baby. Eventually, the king gave his decision: “Give the living baby to the first woman. Nobody is going to kill this baby. She is the real mother.” The word got around—everyone in Israel heard of the king’s judgment. They were all in awe of the king, realizing that it was God’s wisdom that enabled him to judge truly... So we can truly see how God works with and through people.
