James 1:1-8

하나님과 주 예수 그리스도의 종인 야고보가 세계에 흩어져 사는 열두 지파에게 문안을 드립니다.
나의 형제자매 여러분, 여러 가지 시험에 빠질 때에, 그것을 더할 나위 없는 기쁨으로 생각하십시오.
여러분은 믿음의 시련이 인내를 낳는다는 것을 알고 있습니다. 여러분은 인내력을 충분히 발휘하여, 조금도 부족함이 없이 완전하고 성숙한 사람이 되십시오. 여러분 가운데 누구든지 지혜가 부족하거든, 모든 사람에게 아낌없이 주시고 나무라지 않으시는 하나님께 구하십시오. 그리하면 받을 것입니다.조금도 의심하지 말고, 믿고 구해야 합니다. 의심하는 사람은 마치 바람에 밀려서 출렁이는 바다 물결과 같습니다.
그런 사람은 주님께로부터 아무것도 받을 생각을 하지 마십시오. 그는 두 마음을 품은 사람이요, 그의 모든 행동에는 안정이 없습니다.James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings. Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.
