Luke 22:39-46

예수께서 나가시어, 늘 하시던 대로 올리브 산으로 가시니, 제자들도 그를 따라갔다. 그 곳에 이르러서, 예수께서 제자들에게 말씀하시기를 "시험에 빠지지 않도록 기도하여라" 하신 뒤에,그들과 헤어져서, 돌을 던져서 닿을 만한 거리에 가서, 무릎을 꿇고 이렇게 기도하셨다. "아버지, 만일 아버지의 뜻이면, 내게서 이 잔을 거두어 주십시오. 그러나 내 뜻대로 되게 하지 마시고, 아버지의 뜻대로 되게 하여 주십시오." [그 때에 천사가 하늘로부터 그에게 나타나서, 힘을 북돋우어 드렸다. 예수께서 고뇌에 차서, 더욱 간절히 기도하시니, 땀이 핏방울같이 되어서 땅에 떨어졌다.] 기도를 마치고 일어나, 제자들에게로 와서 보시니, 그들이 슬픔에 지쳐서 잠들어 있었다.그래서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "왜들 자고 있느냐? 시험에 빠지지 않도록, 일어나서 기도하여라."Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. On reaching the place, he said to them, "Pray that you will not fall into temptation."He withdrew about a stone's throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow."Why are you sleeping?" he asked them. "Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation."
