1 Timothy 6:6-10

자족할 줄 아는 사람에게는, 경건은 큰 이득을 줍니다. 우리는 아무것도 세상에 가지고 오지 않았으므로, 아무것도 가지고 떠나갈 수 없습니다. 우리는 먹을 것과 입을 것이 있으면, 그것으로 만족해야 할 것입니다. 그러나 부자가 되기를 원하는 사람은, 유혹과 올무와 여러 가지 어리석고도 해로운 욕심에 떨어집니다. 이런 것들은 사람을 파멸과 멸망에 빠뜨립니다. 돈을 사랑하는 것이 모든 악의 뿌리입니다. 돈을 좇다가, 믿음에서 떠나 헤매기도 하고, 많은 고통을 겪기도 한 사람이 더러 있습니다.But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
