2 Timothy 2:14-19

신도들에게 이것을 일깨우십시오. 하나님 앞에서 그들에게 엄숙히 명해서 말다툼을 하지 못하게 하십시오. 그것은 아무 유익이 없고, 듣는 사람들을 파멸에 이르게 할 뿐입니다. 그대는 진리의 말씀을 올바르게 가르치는 부끄러울 것 없는 일꾼으로 하나님께 인정을 받는 사람이 되기를 힘쓰십시오. 속된 잡담을 피하십시오. 그것이 사람을 더욱더 경건하지 아니함에 빠지게 합니다. 그들의 말은 암처럼 퍼져 나갈 것입니다. 그들 가운데는 후메내오와 빌레도가 있습니다. 그들은 진리에서 멀리 떠나버렸고, 부활은 이미 지나갔다고 말하면서, 사람들의 믿음을 뒤엎습니다. 그러나 하나님의 기초는 이미 튼튼히 서 있고, 거기에는 "주님께서는 자기에게 속한 사람을 아신다"는 말씀과 "주님의 이름을 부르는 사람은 다 불의에서 떠나라"는 말씀이 새겨져 있습니다. Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."
