2 Timothy 2:22-26

그대는 젊음의 정욕을 피하고, 깨끗한 마음으로 주님을 찾는 사람들과 함께, 의와 믿음과 사랑과 평화를 좇으십시오. 어리석고 무식한 논쟁을 멀리하십시오. 그대가 아는 대로, 거기에서 싸움이 생깁니다. 주님의 종은 다투지 말아야 합니다. 그는 모든 사람에게 온유하고, 잘 가르치고, 참을성이 있어야 하고, 반대하는 사람을 온화하게 바로잡아 주어야 합니다. 그렇게 하면, 아마도 하나님께서 그 반대하는 사람들을 회개시키셔서, 진리를 깨닫게 하실 것입니다. 그들은 악마에게 사로잡혀서 악마의 뜻을 좇았지만, 정신을 차려서 그 악마의 올무에서 벗어날 것입니다. Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
