Mark 1:35-45

아주 이른 새벽에, 예수께서 일어나서 외딴 곳으로 나가셔서, 거기에서 기도하고 계셨다. 그 때에 시몬과 그의 일행이 예수를 찾아 나섰다. 그들은 예수를 만나자 "모두 선생님을 찾고 있습니다" 하고 말하였다. 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "가까운 여러 고을로 가자. 거기에서도 내가 말씀을 선포해야 하겠다. 나는 이 일을 하러 왔다." 예수께서 온 갈릴리와 여러 회당을 두루 찾아가셔서 말씀을 전하고, 귀신들을 쫓아내셨다. 나병 환자 한 사람이 예수께로 와서, 그 앞에 무릎을 꿇고 간청하였다. "선생님께서 하고자 하시면, 나를 깨끗하게 해주실 수 있습니다." 예수께서 그를 불쌍히 여기시고, 손을 내밀어 그에게 대시고 말씀하셨다. "그렇게 해주마. 깨끗하게 되어라." 곧 나병이 그에게서 떠나고, 그는 깨끗하게 되었다. 예수께서 단단히 이르시고, 곧 그를 보내셨다. 그 때에 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "아무에게도 아무 말도 하지 말아라. 가서, 제사장에게 네 몸을 보이고, 네가 깨끗하게 된 것에 대하여 모세가 명령한 것을 바쳐서, 사람들에게 증거로 삼도록 하여라." 그러나 그는 나가서, 모든 일을 널리 알리고, 그 이야기를 퍼뜨렸다. 그러므로 예수께서는 드러나게 동네로 들어가지 못하시고, 바깥 외딴 곳에 머물러 계셨다. 그래도 사람들이 사방에서 예수께로 모여들었다. Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: "Everyone is looking for you!" Jesus replied, "Let us go somewhere else--to the nearby villages--so I can preach there also. That is why I have come." So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean." Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning: "See that you don't tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them." Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.
