Revelation 13:11-18

나는 또 땅에서 다른 짐승 하나가 올라오는 것을 보았습니다. 그것은 어린 양처럼 뿔이 둘 있고, 용처럼 말을 하였습니다. 이 짐승은 첫째 짐승이 가진 모든 권세를 그 첫째 짐승을 대신하여 행사하였습니다. 이 짐승은, 땅과 땅 위에 사는 모든 사람들로 하여금 치명상에서 나음을 받은 그 첫째 짐승에게 절하게 하였습니다. 또 그 짐승은 큰 기적들을 행하였는데, 사람들이 보는 앞에서 하늘에서 불이 땅에 내려오게도 하였습니다. 그리고 그 첫째 짐승을 대신해서 행하도록 허락받은 그 기적들을 미끼로 해서 땅 위에 사는 사람들을 미혹하였습니다. 땅 위에 사는 사람들에게, 칼에 맞아서 상처를 입고서도 살아난 그 짐승을 위하여 우상을 만들라고 말하였습니다. 그리고 둘째 짐승이 능력을 받아서 첫째 짐승의 우상에게 생기를 넣어 주고, 그 짐승의 우상으로 하여금 말을 하게도 하고, 또 우상에게 경배하지 않는 사람은 모두 죽임을 당하게도 하였습니다.또 작은 자나 큰 자나, 부자나 가난한 자나, 자유인이나 종이나 할 것 없이, 다 그들의 오른손이나 이마에 표를 받게 하였습니다. 누구든지 이 표를 가진 사람, 곧 그 짐승의 이름이나, 그 이름을 나타내는 숫자로 표가 찍힌 사람이 아니면, 아무도 팔거나 사거나 할 수 없게 하였습니다. 여기에 지혜가 필요합니다. 지각이 있는 사람은 그 짐승을 상징하는 숫자를 세어 보십시오. 그 수는 어떤 사람을 가리키는데, 그 수는 육백육십육입니다.Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon. He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.
