James 4:1-3
무엇 때문에 여러분 가운데 싸움이나 분쟁이 일어납니까? 여러분의 지체들 안에서 싸우고 있는 육신의 욕심에서 생기는 것이 아닙니까?
여러분은 욕심을 부려도 얻지 못하면 살인을 하고, 탐내어도 가지지 못하면 다투고 싸웁니다. 여러분이 얻지 못하는 것은 구하지 않기 때문이요,
구하여도 얻지 못하는 것은 자기가 쾌락을 누리는 데에 쓰려고 잘못 구하기 때문입니다.What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you?
You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God.
When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

I pray that my prayers are full of wisdom that I may seek things with right motives which in turn would please the Lord instead of myself. I pray that I seek the Kingdom of God before I seek my own kingdom in my daily life. 우리가 만일 먼저 그의 나라와 의를 구하며 행하면 우리는 더이상 우리 자신을 위해 구하지 않게 될 것이며 오히려 우리의 삶을 주님께 드리며 살아 갈 것입니다.
따라서 우선 내 마음 속에 지독한 시기심과 경쟁심이 있다면 주님께 나아가 치유 받기를 원합니다. 더욱 더 온유한 마음이 생겨서 내 자신보다 내 이웃을 더 사랑하고 높이며 살아 갈 수 있기를 기도합니다. 아멘!
