John 8 (성경통독)
Chapter 8:
Mount of Olives (vs.1-11)
Dispute Over Jesus’ Testimony (vs.12-20)
Dispute Over Who Jesus Is (vs.21-30)
Dispute Over Whose Children Jesus’ Opponents Are (vs.31-47)
Jesus’ Claims About Himself (vs.48-59(
It is notable that how Jesus interacts with His opponents. While Jesus tells them that He was sent from His father, He also claims that He is of His father and that he and the Father are one. I imagine how frustrating it must have been for Jesus to teach the word over and over again against hostile oppositions. But the more and more I think about the hostile crowd and the scribes and the Pharisees, I say to myself that I should stop thinking that only they are evil. Rather, I wonder on which side I would have stood in the crowd when Pilate asked the crowd if they want to have Barrabas or Jesus to be released. Jesus, please heal me and open my spiritual ear and eyes. Please forgive me, the unbelieving poor soul and renew your Spirit within me. Amen!
