1 Thessalonians 3: 8 "For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord." I ask myself: "when was the last time I really felt joy and excitement because someone is standing firm in the Lord?". As much as individual devotion and intimacy with Christ are important, we should also keep in mind that Christ has entrusted us with a religious community and we should do our best to ensure that we urge, challenge and encourage each other in Christ continuously.

1 Thessalonians 4:...that each of you should learn to control your own body[a] in a way that is holy and honorable... so regardless of what we do, we should not overuse or misuse our bodies that were presented to us by the Lord. We should pray for discernment about what's impure vs. what's holy in eyes of the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5:... " warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone...Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus... Do not quench the Spirit." In order for the Holy Spirit to work within us, we have to open up our ears and hearts to these words. It can be a challenge to be patient with everyone and to be thankful in all circumstances. But this is our calling and a stepping stone to become more mature in the Lord.
