Colossians 1: " We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,[e] 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. This wisdom and understanding will help us to fully experience the life He intends us to live." As we grow in the knowledge of God and His son Jesus Christ, the labor and pain we experience as His disciples will be matched with the energy which Christ powerfully pours out on us.
Colossians 2: "He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross." So since all our sins have been canceled and removed between God and us, we should nail all sinful nature and habits to the cross and fully believe that we are a new creation and hence, live up to Christ's expectations.
Colossians 3: 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.... so our new self has to be renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. It's not an one-time process but rather a lifetime continuous process.
