19: God's word to the kings of Judah and people of Jerusalem are frightening. The doom that's crashing down on Topheth or Valley of Ben-hinnom will be unbearable and difficult to handle. But this shows how much God hated the people to give burnt offering to non-good Baal and He hates every form of idolatry.

20:After the priest Pashur son of Immer who was the senior priest in God’s Temple ordered Jeremiah to be whipped and punished , the latter gets threatened to be taken captive in Babylonia where he is supposed to die . Therefore, Jeremiah reaches out to God asking for His mercy and complaining that his Life’s Been Nothing but Trouble and Tears.

21: We can see God longing for justice to the disobedient people of Jerusalem and Judah. He prophecies that 'He deliver them to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon—yes, hand them over to their enemies, who have come to kill them. He’ll kill them ruthlessly, showing no mercy.’ How can it end? Whoever goes out and surrenders to the Chaldeans who have surrounded the city will live. The people would lose everything—but not their lives . This is how God expects people to surrender to Him.
