1 John 1: "7 If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim." This emphasizes that we cannot seek God if we continue with our sinful lives. "God is light, pure light; there’s not a trace of darkness in him." Again, we cannot have two masters in our lives but have let go of our sinful past if we truly want to follow the footsteps of Christ.
1 John 2: "if what you heard from the beginning lives deeply in you, you will live deeply in both Son and Father. This is exactly what Christ promised: eternal life, real life!" So here is the bottom line message: " Live deeply in what you were taught.... live deeply in Christ." This itself in essence is eternal life and we should truly embrace it and live deeply in it. Amen!
