Exodus 35:1-3
모세는 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중을 모아 놓고 말하였다. "주께서 너희에게 실천하라고 명하신 말씀은 이러하다.엿새 동안은 일을 해야 한다. 그러나 이렛날은 너희에게 거룩한 날, 곧 주께 바친 완전히 쉬는 안식일이므로, 그 날에 일을 하는 사람은 누구든지 사형에 처해야 한다. 안식일에는 너희가 사는 어디에서도 불을 피워서는 안 된다."
God ordered the 7th day to be a resting day, because He wants His people to take a step back from every day life and and just reflect on His beautiful creation of the world. It's not only a matter of physical break and rest, but moreover, God wants us to fully appreciate His works on this earth. In the same token, we should also remember what God has been doing in our lives. We rely more on His grace and love than we think we do.
