Malachi 3:13-18

"너희가 불손한 말로 나를 거역하였다. 나, 주가 말한다. '우리가 무슨 말을 하였기에, 주님을 거역하였다고 하십니까?' 하고 너희는 묻는다. 너희가 말하기를 '하나님을 섬기는 것은 헛된 일이다. 그의 명령을 지키고, 만군의 주 앞에서 그의 명령을 지키며 죄를 뉘우치고 슬퍼하는 것이 무슨 유익이 있단 말인가?
이제 보니, 교만한 자가 오히려 복이 있고, 악한 일을 하는 자가 번성하며, 하나님을 시험하는 자가 재앙을 면한다!' 하는구나."그 때에 주님께서는, 주님을 경외한 사람들이 서로 주고받는 말을 똑똑히 들으셨다. 그 가운데서도 주님을 경외하며, 주님의 이름을 존중하는 사람들을 당신 앞에 있는 비망록에 기록하셨다.
"나 만군의 주가 말한다. 내가 지정한 날에, 그들은 나의 특별한 소유가 되며, 사람이 효도하는 자식을 아끼듯이, 내가 그들을 아끼겠다. 그 때에야 너희가 다시 의인과 악인을 분별하고, 하나님을 섬기는 자와 섬기지 않는 자를 비로소 분별할 것이다.""You have said harsh things against me," says the LORD. "Yet you ask, 'What have we said against you?' "You have said, 'It is futile to serve God. What did we gain by carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the LORD Almighty? But now we call the arrogant blessed. Certainly the evildoers prosper, and even those who challenge God escape.' "Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name. "They will be mine," says the LORD Almighty, "in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.
