예수의 어머니와 형제들이 예수께로 왔으나, 무리 때문에 만날 수 없었다.
그래서 사람들이 예수께 전하였다. "선생님의 어머니와 형제들이 밖에 서서, 선생님을 만나고 싶어합니다."예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "하나님의 말씀을 듣고 행하는 이 사람들이 나의 어머니요, 나의 형제들이다."Now Jesus' mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd.
Someone told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you."He replied, "My mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put it into practice."

In no way is Jesus trying to deny the importance of family members. But through this example, I believe that Jesus is trying to illustrate how He considers us as family (e.g. children, brother etc.) as we obey His word and carry it out in our daily lives. He does not want to rule our lives as a cruel despot, but He wants us to carry out His word with pleasure and willingness to listen and learn. 내 자신은 신앙생활에 대해 어떻게 생각 하는지 다시 한번 점검 해 보기를 원합니다. 두렵고 무서워서 할수 없이 신앙 생활을 하는 것인지 아니면 즐거히 순종하는 마음으로 하고 있는지 생각 해 보기를 원합니다.
