Genesis 2:1-7

하나님은 하늘과 땅과 그 가운데 있는 모든 것을 다 이루셨다. 하나님은 하시던 일을 엿샛날까지 다 마치시고, 이렛날에는 하시던 모든 일에서 손을 떼고 쉬셨다. 이렛날에 하나님이 창조하시던 모든 일에서 손을 떼고 쉬셨으므로, 하나님은 그 날을 복되게 하시고 거룩하게 하셨다. 하늘과 땅을 창조하실 때의 일은 이러하였다. 주 하나님이 땅과 하늘을 만드실 때에, 주 하나님이 땅 위에 비를 내리지 않으셨고, 땅을 갈 사람도 아직 없었으므로, 땅에는 나무가 없고, 들에는 풀 한 포기도 아직 돋아나지 않았다.땅에서 물이 솟아서, 온 땅을 적셨다. 주 하나님이 땅의 흙으로 사람을 지으시고, 그의 코에 생명의 기운을 불어넣으시니, 사람이 생명체가 되었다.Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens- and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground,but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground- the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
