Mark 9:1-13

또 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 여기에 서 있는 사람들 가운데는, 죽기 전에 하나님의 나라가 권능을 떨치며 와 있는 것을 볼 사람들도 있다." 그리고 엿새 뒤에 예수께서 베드로와 야고보와 요한만을 데리고, 따로 높은 산으로 가셨다. 그런데, 그들이 보는 앞에서, 그의 모습이 변하였다. 그 옷은 세상의 어떤 빨래꾼이라도 그렇게 희게 할 수 없을 만큼 새하얗게 빛났다. 그리고 엘리야가 모세와 함께 그들에게 나타나더니, 예수와 말을 주고받았다. 그래서 베드로가 예수께 말하였다. "랍비님, 우리가 여기에 있는 것이 좋겠습니다. 우리가 초막 셋을 지어서, 하나에는 랍비님을, 하나에는 모세를, 하나에는 엘리야를 모시겠습니다."베드로는 무슨 말을 해야 좋을지 몰라서 이런 말을 했던 것이다. 제자들이 겁에 질렸기 때문이다. 그런데 구름이 일어나서, 그들을 뒤덮었다. 그리고 구름 속에서 소리가 났다. "이는 내 사랑하는 아들이다. 너희는 그의 말을 들어라." 그들이 문득 둘러보았으나, 아무도 없고, 예수만 그들과 함께 계셨다. 그들이 산에서 내려올 때에, 예수께서는 그들에게 명하시어, 인자가 죽은 사람들 가운데서 살아날 때까지는, 본 것을 아무에게도 이야기하지 말라고 하셨다. 그들은 이 말씀을 간직하고, 죽은 사람들 가운데서 살아난다는 것이 무슨 뜻인가를 서로 물었다.그들이 예수께 묻기를 "어찌하여 율법학자들은 엘리야가 먼저 와야 한다고 합니까?" 하니, 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "확실히 엘리야가 먼저 와서, 모든 것을 회복한다. 그런데, 인자가 많은 고난을 받고 멸시를 당할 것이라고 기록한 것은, 어찌 된 일이냐? 내가 너희에게 말한다. 엘리야는 이미 왔다. 그런데, 그를 두고 기록한 대로, 사람들은 그를 함부로 대하였다."And he said to them, "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power." After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters--one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah."(He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.) Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!" Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus. As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead. They kept the matter to themselves, discussing what "rising from the dead" meant.And they asked him, "Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?" Jesus replied, "To be sure, Elijah does come first, and restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer much and be rejected? But I tell you, Elijah has come, and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him."
