James 3:13-18

13.여러분 가운데서 지혜 있고 이해력이 있는 사람이 누구입니까? 그러한 사람은 착한 행동을 하여 그의 행실을 나타내 보이십시오. 그 일은 지혜에서 오는 온유함으로 행하는 것이어야 할 것입니다. 14.여러분의 마음 속에 지독한 시기심과 경쟁심이 있으면 자랑하지 말고, 진리를 거슬러 속이지 마십시오. 15.이러한 지혜는 위에서 내려온 것이 아니라, 땅에 속한 것이고, 육신에 속한 것이고, 악마에게 속한 것입니다. 16.시기심과 경쟁심이 있는 곳에는 혼란과 온갖 악한 행위가 있습니다. 17.그러나 위에서 오는 지혜는 우선 순결하고, 다음으로 평화스럽고, 친절하고, 온순하고, 자비와 선한 열매가 풍성하고, 편견과 위선이 없습니다. 18.정의의 열매는 평화를 이루는 사람들이 평화를 위하여 그 씨를 뿌려서 거두어들이는 열매입니다. 13.Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14.But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15.Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. 16.For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. 17.But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18.Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.
