Chapter 1: We can see how faithful and loyal Hannah is to the Lord by giving her son to the Lord. As faithful she has been, the Lord granted her mercy and now she shows her gratitude toward the Lord by presenting her child to Him.

Chapter 2: Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained. Clearly, the Lord's gracious hands were upon those who were faithful and obedient. On the other hand, He carried punishment toward those who despised Him and were disobedient.

Chapter 3: "The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word." We can see how God interacted and spoke with his people through His messengers.

Chapter 4: As we can see, the ark of God symbolized glory and God's presence for Israel. So the capture of the ark of God was devastating, even more devastating than the deaths of Eli and his two sons.

Chapter 5: It seems that God's hand was very heavy upon the Philistines for the following reasons: 1.) they worshiped man-made gods and 2.) Israel was God's chosen nation and the ark (God's presence and glory) was to stay only there with the Israelite.
