Colossians 4: Epaphras... He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.... We need partners in Christ who will wrestle in prayer for us and we also need to become partners in Christ to others who will pray for them. To be able to stand firm in the Lord requires more than self-determination and efforts. Rather, we need the help of fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
1 Thessalonians 1: We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ....So faith, love and hope are not simple results that come by naturally. They produce the needed work, labor and endurance needed to fully to carry out the word of Jesus Christ in our lives. This is absolutely vital and necessary so we can turn to God from idols to serve the living and true God and to follow Christ Jesus as true disciples.
1 Thessalonians 2: 9 Surely you remember, brothers and sisters, our toil and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you. 10 You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed..... So we should keep in mind that we should be careful not to become a burden to anyone while preaching the gospel of God. We should look out and make sure that our actions align with the word of God and make sure sure not to take advantage of our positions as Christ's disciples and ambassadors.
